Both my girls have attended LTH @ Sembawang. The school is good and clean, teachers are caring and friendly, class size is not too big. Blessedly, both my girls had the same teacher during their time there.

dont think this sch is recommended. went for a visit and it seems too over crowded and teachers looked like they have too many children to handle.

Anyone has comments on little tree house at hougang?I am planning to find my girl a CC at hougang starting Q1 2016 as I am moving there and is not familiar with that area.

Any recommendations around that area will be good.

Our Junior School Hse was previously Little Tree House.

Chk out also Cherie Hearts @Starhub and the other 2 childcare centres at Vertex. The centre at Starhub is probably more popular and established in Ubi area.

Apologise for the late reply as recently i’m quite bz. There is no particular reason to put him in current CC.

Yup he improving some (E.g: learn more words & more understand on what i’m talking) though morning cries still persist but stopped very fast too…keke…

Sigh, yesterday just kanna chicken pox. So poor him. Hope he can recover fast. It pains me to see him @ this stage.

oic. but i did nt put my boy in treehouse @ubi as i was told tat july there will be new management & the sch will change name. Somemore the fees will increase as well.

In the end, i put my child @ hungry caterpillar in Shun Li Ind Park.

i was told by the teachers that it could be normal for kids to be tired after the whole day is over - the time when we pick them up from the childcare at the end of the day.

the teachers told me that cos in the sch, they have activities for the kids and games, etc. hence they could use up lots of energy and by the end of the day, they are tired/exhausted…

it will take sometime before the children adjust themselves to all these (cos was told they are highly adaptable).

for hunger, yes, for initial stages cos was told, maybe used all all energy, they didn’t replenish enough (cos they have fixed times for lunch, teabreak, etc) unless home… or maybe they were shy din ask for second helpings, so forth or they din like the food, can’t get use to the food, etc…

again, hunger part, we could either pack our own food or let the child adapt in time to come… for me, on and off, i will pack some food for them… can’t do everyday, very tiring. if not, just feed them more at night/weekends heheh

just wish all these be end soon…

cos im thinking of switching another childcare for my boy hahah

It have been a week past, every morning when i bring my boy to sch or perhaps near his sch, he will start crying pitful. It hurts me so much. But like as u say, if really have the time & person to take care, i will sure to put him under 1/2day 1st instead of full.

According to the teacher over there, they did mentioned to me that it is very normal for child to cry in the morning & my boy for the 1st 3 days, he kept on & off crying but subsequent as now, he have stop except during the morning time. Me too hope that is the truth which i will like to hear.

Everytime i knock off from work, i will try my very best to reach his sch asap & everytime i saw his cheerful face when seeing me delighted me a lot. Hope that he did really cheerful during the time when i am not around. He seemed to be very hungry & tired whenever i go & fetch him. Is that normal?The teacher said that he have ate but why he still appear to be hungry & tired?

Hope my son can stop his morning cries faster… Hope our both sons will settle down fast…

my hearts goes out to you… cos i was and am still in the same shoes as you…

putting the child in the half day to get him adjusted would really be good and helpful if we could afford the time/persons to be there for him… else, as parent, we just have to let go if we are working … it still hurts my heart when my boy does the same thing… but the child and the parent both have to adjust to the new lifestyle.

cheer up! it will definitely gets better when each day pass, esp when he gets adjusted to his friends/teachers. that’s what happen to my gal… i’m just waiting for my boy to pass thru this phase too.

Wow, tat is gd for you. In the past, if i knw that there is childcare that have infant care, i will put him in at least, i no need to be so heartpain as now. y child is already 21 months.

The 1st day when i bring him in, it is fine & when i ask him to take off his shoes & put inside the pigeon hole.Soon after he took off, he zoom into the hall & walk round.I passed him to teacher & left. He did not cry but after a while, i called up the teacher & teacher mentioned that he on/off cry & running ard to look for me. The most sad thing is that the 1st day of sch, he hurt his fingers as he stuck his fingers inside the glass door. God bless, nothing serious. The CC have make me a bit disappointed as the teacher by right should pay extra attention to newbies, am i rite?

When i fetch him home @ 5pm, i heard him crying, sitting in the hall. Looks so pity, hurts me so much.

Today is the 2nd day, maybe he knws that he gng to be left behind again. Soon after leave the lift door, he hugged me superb tight, pointing @ the lift but still i bring him to the reception hall & he started crying pitiful. I took off his shoes & carry him to the classroom & passed to teacher. He cried so hard which hurts me so much. I assure him that i will bring him home fast & left. Teacher did mentioned to me to try to put him CC maybe 1/2 day for a few days but i said i still need to work. Does it really helps if i put him for a few days for 1/2 day?Am i doing the right thing & i so worried that he might have fear against gng to sch. I have called up the teacher & teacher said that he have stopped crying. His voice is so horse, really hurts me & i really cant bear to leave just like tat. How i hope that he can like yesterday take off shoes & run into. Is this the standard transition period? how long will it be?

No point for me to peek as the glass door is frosted with flim & i cant see him @ all.

I really in a dilemina, what should i do? I dun wish to see him crying everyday & i fear that he might hurt his voice.

Hi Dolphinger,

Hope ur son’s first day of school went fine.

Think our experiences with my son was very different. He was exposed to child care env as early as 8 mths+ (infant care). Hence, he is already very adapted when he started at his current child care. How old is your son?

But do feel that -
1) must learn to let go… in fact, the longer u stay with the kid, think it is more difficult for the kid to adapt… it is ok to go off, if u r worried… can just return to peek or observe without the kid seeing u… initially, try to fetch ur kid home earlier…
2) if ur kid is first time in child care env. Initially, be prepared for him to fall sick quite frequently… but over the time, he should build up his immunity.

Oh yr child is @ the Cherie Hearts @ starhub Green. The cost very high ya. Me initally also want to enrol there but the cost are really x whereby i find it quite tedious if really to enrol.

Care to share yuor experience when u 1st place your child @ the CC? What u do & did u stay there?

Of coz nope, i visited several near ubi & kaki bukit. But so far i think only hungry caterpillar can meet my expectations & my son seem to like the toilet more. HaHaha..but overrall in terms of safety between LTH & HC, i think HC is more safety.

Good that you have finally made ur choice.
Do share your experiences @hungry caterpillar in the future....
My son is currently with e CC at starhub green ubi, m so far quite happy.
