I heard Kumon is worksheet-based though.

If the centre has an English-speaking teacher who can explain each Chinese word patiently (with English translation) to the child, that may be more helpful for the child to pick up the language.

Hi, has anyone tried any tutor who is able to teach a P3 who is really weak in chinese. (can't recognise and write chinese) ?

Thinking of putting him to Kumon.
If your child is very weak he might not be able to catch up with the pace in a tuition class as they have targeted areas to cover in each lesson.

It is fun to recognise words this way as a start.


But if you can’t work with your child, then Kumon could be an option. It helps to talk to school teacher for suggestions too.
