No , If taking advanced subject then no need to take norm . Just got to take extra exam. So I think it’s still alright to take advanced subject. As for additional 9th subjects might be other than 3rd lang too. Eg. some girls taking triple sc but keen to take up another humanity like Lit etc

I think if the girl has strong interest in the subject, no harm trying advance as my girl told me during WA some qn set was only taught in advanced subject. So I think the depth of the subject has its advantage. Just that maybe avoid taking more than 8 subjects as certain day in the week, class might ends as late as 5pm if there r too many subjects.

Last year all applicants can check on portal but this year unsure. Sports should b via call n letter by hand during briefing . Acad letter posted via mail.

Last year, DD’s application was updated with a ‘Success’ status (means a confirmed DSA offer) on a Tue, 28 Aug at 5-ish PM. Followed by a letter via snail mail. In 2016, if I remember correctly, DD’s application status was updated on 29 Aug or was it also 28 Aug, evening time.
Oic. Then probably the sport ones faster as my friends n I received calls in the morning maybe they need to confirm attendance for briefing next day .

That just sounds so cruel to those receiving the rejected email.

No lah. Rejects from RGS were in the morning. CO/WL were late afternoon. But for RGS, it was definitely no news is good news type. Anyway, last year they were the last school to send. NYGH was 2nd last last year. So I predict RI tomorrow, followed by NYGH day after and then finally RGS. So those with daughters waiting for those 2 schools, hang in there!

in 2018, nygh released outcome on the last Tuesday, so it might be tomorrow for this year's dsa!
Ya I also think tomorrow high chance nygh morning will have news .
Just thinking out loud...

Is it possible that some schools deliberately announce the results late so that if rival schools announce earlier, and the student decides to take up the rival school’s CO, there is a chance that the student can reject the school that hasn’t informed yet so the school can give the place to another student?

I heard of schools that call up the students to check if they will take up the offer before they actually give out the CO.

Ya last year one of my friend did receive calls twice, asking her if she will really take up if CO offer to her as the CO is very precious .

May we know which school did your friend's daughter receive CO last year (2018), asking if she was keen to take up the CO, as the CO was precious ? Thank you
Nygh

      MommyNg,

Is it true that 2 / 3 of the 136 seats (for dsa) equal 91 seats, are occupied by Academic domain ?

Last year (2018), Bilingualism took in 30 students.

If this year (2019) follow same trend as last year, means out of 91 seats for Academic domain :-

same number 30 : go to Bilingualism,

another 31 : go to Maths,

      another 30 : go to Science ?

30 candidates, per Academic domain : can form one class
Hmm usually Maths n Bilingualism have more dsa slots. Not sure of other acad domains but Sc as of last year I heard only take in about 5 . Not sure of this year through.
As for sport domain during the dsa briefing sessions those turned up last year should at least got abt 60-70 girls.
