Better focus on next week PSLE oral and Social Studies SA (for GEPpers). Geppers always have extra challenge compare to mainstreamers. See there is still this sticky SS SA just two days before PSLE Oral, not fair to the GEPpers right? So mainstream parents, dun complain about DSA anymore, if you do, ...

:whut: cannot believe this post... shakes my head...

I too saw a post few days before http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=157&p=812036&hilit=IMHO#p812036

hmmmm. :please: :grphug: is more imp among KP's
Hi lilmom, i am an old bee in this forum and have follow thru the long dsa thread. As and when there comes pop up of mainstream parents commenting that dsa favour gep kids. But i think this thread has done a good job in educating parents what exactly have been going on with parents most willing to share more insight. Like you now cant believe of such comment anymore. You see and hear thru in this forum how some parents have mistaken gep 's advantage on the surface and there came a conman kelvin ong n aristocare saga sucking out their monies. Once again many thanks to chiefkiasu who created this forum. :salute:
As a mom who has a kid in GEP and another in mainstream, I see the advantages and disadvantages of both. DS1 is in RI and is a GEP student while DS2 is a mainstreamer who is applying through DSA this year. I missed the posting the earlier posting mentioned by Leeven but I believe that there are benefits in both GEP and mainstream - after all they are meant for children with different learning needs. No need to fight and argue over who has it worse.

The \"Whut\" and \"I do not believe this posting\" was a direct reaction to the Kiasucy's post \"So mainstream parents, dun complain about DSA anymore, if you do, ..... \". The \".... if you do...\" part may be interpreted by some as a threat or challenge.

I believe that KP is meant for all parents .. constructive comments are welcomed and we should all learn from each other.

I can see that you are stressed but please do not rub onto others!! Why bring this geppers vs mainstreamers argument up again? Can't we all co-exist in KP in harmony? We are all stressed and what you are saying is certainly not helping! Be a good sport about it! Life is not fair - grow up!

Quoting you... \"So mainstream parents, dun complain about DSA anymore, if you do, ...\" Seriously??!! Who is doing the complaining here?

I agree with Yarna. KP is for everyone - constructive comments are welcome. Why not view the challenge of having the SS test and PSLE oral together positively? With every challenge comes an opportunity - there is more to gain than loose, if viewed constructively.

I agree it is going to be long stressful week for them. :please: dont complain about GEP students & DSA . They are DSA'g only for SBGE schools to continue their curriculum.

To this I shall say.. to each his own. We all have our own reasons for DSAing ....whether he/she is a Gepper or Mainstreamer. In the spirit of the Olympic games, I shall quote Sebastian Coe : All pressure is self-inflicted. It's what you make of it or how you let it rub off on you.

Have a happy national day everyone!
:goodpost: :salute:

DD was so worn out too. Said both were tough :xedfingers: , well she is not so good in MT.
:grphug: and we start doing count down and wait for results . I belive in if some thing is for you then it is always for you , no body can take it.
leeven,

while we start counting down & wait... our necks will start to grow.. like many last year parents.... :rotflmao:
Phew! just feel off loaded from DSA thingy, but only got to recall there is still a SS test soon and school prelim. DS is feeling impatient that why he needs to be drilled again and again on those practice papers. Asked why can't they allow GEPpers tobe exempted from PSLE if they have achieved above 80% in the GE exam? Got to be tied down for two more over months before he can really move on.
DS used to ask the same.. but I pose the following question to him - then what about GEPers who do obtained marks of 80% and below? Should they get disqualified? What about the mainstreamers who achieve 80% and above? I tell DS that being a GEPer does not necessary guarantee success and he still needs to work hard. Overall development is important.

    • RE: All About English Creative Writing

Hi all, I’m new and hope to get some advice from you.

My son is in P6 and is taking PSLE this year. I wanted to sign him up for a creative writing class. Does anyone have any good recommendations to share? Has anyone send their children to Anne’s creative writing classes? I came across her name when I did a google search and wanted to know more before I commit. Thanks!!
