Any recommendation for Sec 1 Maths Assessment
-
Hi. Does anyone know of any good Sec 1NA Maths assessment book? I prefer it to go topic by topic, instead of in exam papers format. I went to Lot One popular and could only find 2 types of Maths assessment books for Sec 1 NA, and both are in exam papers format. Any recommendation on which assessment books and which outlet to get?

Please recommend Maths, English, science, Assessment books for Sec 1

For Maths, we found the Shing Lee textbook and workbook to be the best prep.
For Science, our school uses this 3-book series: Integrated Science - A Topical Assessment For Lower Sec Levels - for Phy, Chem, Bio. -
Reviving this thread!
I have a friend who is living overseas, with a child who would be Sec 1 next year if they were in Singapore. Can someone recommend some assessment book titles that would be good for additional practice beyond textbook & workbook? Her child is quite a strong student, so recommendations in the average to challenging range would be appreciated. Thanks! -
No-one with any recommendations? Then another question - which are the leading publishers or authors? At least to give my friend some idea of what to ask for?

1) Maths Assessment books -
can try publishers Dolphin, Casco, EPH, Shing lee
can also try publisher Marshall Cavendish
\"Dinstinction\" in Maths series, for Lower Secondary.
2) Science Assessment books -
can try publishers GLM, EPH,
or
the 3 Lower Secondary Science Assessment books written by Mavis tuition centre, which nansk have recommended (her above posting)
Ask your friend to bring her daughter along to Popular bookshop. Ask her girl to flip through those Assessment books herself page by page, see which ones she find more suitable, more challenging, assuming that she already know her basics / fundamentals, well. Don't ask your friend to choose for her daughter, because her daughter is the one that is studying. Her daughter will know, not the mother. -

The problem is that they are overseas, and not sure whether they are going to be able to come back anytime soon. They will probably be asking other people to buy for them, not sure who.

Anyway, thanks for the list!
