For the benefit of those who are thinking of sending your children to Radin Mas Pri. Sch. (and provided you managed to catch this post after scrolling through 81 pages of information :!: ), below are some of the points highlighted by the principal during the orientation last Saturday:

      1. School is aiming to go single session on 2013.
      2. The principal explained the rationale for the reduced intake every year, but mentioned that the number has "stabilised". I take it to mean that next year’s vacancy will be the same as this year, i.e. 240.

            Does CHIJ (Kellock) accept PV?

            Hi titank!

CHIJ Kellock doesn't accept PV. To get into P2B, you will need to be either a grassroot leader, or join the church.

Wow confirm no PV for CHIJ (Kellock). Like that have to register at Phase 1 then after that withdraw & insertion method at Phase 2C. :!:

              Hi,

I am looking for an after school care for my girl. According to the school bus driver, there is a girl attending HDB Hub Toa Payoh after school care. I am thinking of asking the same bus driver to fetch my girl to the same after school care so that it will not be so troublesome for the bus driver. However, the bus driver did not give much information on the after school care.

Does anyone knows of a Kellock girl attending a after school care in HDB Toa Payoh?

              Rdgs,
              Smallfly

Hi to all fellow parents…I just registered a nick after reading thru 84 pages of this thread the past few days.

We are a couple staying in Telok Blangah Heights with a 5 year old girl (taken care of by my mother whom stays in Telok Blangah Rise), so she should be going to Primary 1 in 2012.

We have a few options and they are as follows:

                1. River Valley Primary
Pros: I was an old boy so I qualify under the 2A(2) and called the school yesterday and they assured me its almost guaranteed a place under this scheme
Cons: Its about 3-4KM from my house (or grandma’s house) so definately have to use school bus/car

                2. Radin Mas Primary
Pros: Grandma is within 1km and we are 1-2km and its 10 minutes walk to my mother’s house (RMPS is nearest to us among all schools)
Cons: Seems hardest to get in, often need Ballot … not sure if doing PV would help

                3. CHIJ Kellock
Pros: Pros: Grandma is within 1km and we are 1-2km and its 15 mins walk to my mother’s house
Cons: No PV to "enhance" chances, 1-2km may need Ballot… and we are not too sure about the culture of CHIJ Kellock wifey is concerned about the supposely more "lax" approach…

That said, we need advice from fellow parents about what should be the right and sensible thing to do…hope I don’t appear too Kiasu by planning 2 years ahead but thats why I am in kiasu parents I guess…and if we have to do PV, I think its about now that we need to get involved…

Any advice and opinions will be greately appreciated…Thanks

                  Hi gt1122,

Looking at your 3 choices, RVPS would be the safest option but of course distance is at your disadvantage. For your case if the child is on school bus, most likely he would reach home like 7.30pm assuming he is on the PM session. For RVPS, P2 onwards would be morning session.

RMPS would go into single session in 2013, guess they would be reduce their intake in the next few years to come. Also Pinaccle@Duxton is coming out, definitely it would affect all the nearby schools like RVPS, RMPS,ZDPS & CHIJ (Kellock) in my opinion. Past balloting history may change.

Planning 2 years or even 4 years ahead is not KS, if not you won’t be coming to this KSP forum. Hope you will find something useful in here.

According to the principal of RMPS, the intake has sort of \"stabilised\". I take this to mean that they will not reduce intake anymore. Hence, I think this year's intake will be 240.

If based on 240 intake, guessed this year registration would still maintain balloting at 1km. I guessed the property at 1km of RMPS is getting good price now? 😉
