My girl failed her p5 & p6 CA1 maths. she went to mrs lee in march this yr. I was surprised when my girl got 62/100 for her SA1. Her paper 2 jumped from 16/60 to 36/60. I didnt expect that as paper 2 was a killer to her. My girl was elated & felt that there is still hope for her maths. I really wanted to cry when she told me her marks over the phone as she was extremely happy. Can you imagine a child who always fails her maths test & exam and now she passed.
Really got to thank mrs lee for coaching her. :thankyou: -
Hi Parents
My kid is in P5 this year. Personally, i felt that Language (Eng & Chinese) holds a higher weightage in PSLE, 100 each. As for both Math and Science total weightage are only 100. No matter how well our kid has done, it is only 50 marks. Correct me if you think i am wrong.
Do any of you have good Language teacher to share? -
jojo:
All subjects have the same weightage i.e. 100%. Languages (English and MT) have scores of 200 each which then be converted to 100% hence a lot of misunderstanding that languages weigh more than Science and Maths. In fact, they are all the same weightage.Hi Parents

My girl is in sec 1 already. I can understand how you feel. She was also not doing well before mrs lee. I was also tearing when she eventually did well.My girl failed her p5 & p6 CA1 maths. she went to mrs lee in march this yr. I was surprised when my girl got 62/100 for her SA1. Hi all, my child improved from 30s to 70s range under Mrs Lee in 6 mths.
While I am very grateful to Mrs Lee, few external factors I believe propelled my child to achieve this grade today.
1) She was previously with Mr Lim from Raymond Maths for 2 sessions where she was terrorized by him. Mr Lim is a very good teacher but military style. We went to him based on recommendations. However his style does not suit all kids. My child was really worried that I will put her back with Mr Lim, hence this pushed her to 'wake up' and work harder.
2) My child school engaged Ammiel Wan's VisibleMath Team to teach the P6 kids for 2 terms weekly basis. This helps reinforces what was learnt in Mrs Lee's class. I think Mrs Lee also uses VM concepts and methods in her lessons.
Personally, there are pros and cons with Mrs Lee:
Pros:
1) small class size - max 8
2) well planned curriculum to help kids. They are starting on Prelim papers.
3) able to relate to and motivate child - great chemistry.... VIP
Cons:
1) limited slots
2) no after lesson support, ie lack of support on questions outside lesson time
Overall Mrs Lee is a great tutor and I believe your child will benefit greatly if you get them enrolled right from the beginning of the year.
Personally I am very thankful to Mrs Lee for my child's grades. Above comments is just to share my thoughts and no negativity aimed at any of the tutors.
I see many parents struggle to get Mrs Lee's contact, hence here is her number - 96841238
Good luck in getting slots and also in your child's journey with tutors. :xedfingers:
