Oh! So you qualify under P2B for ZDPS?Understand nobody will know... thought perhaps some parents have some idea based of other stats such as other nearby sch, housing nearby, etc.
I am considering 2 schools: ZDPS and APS.
ZDPS - Phase 2B, < 1km
APS - Phase 2C, < 1km.
Wonder if anyone can share some thoughts on which school to choose/what strategies to adopt?
So, which school is within walking distance from your house?
I suppose you are more interested in APS and hence the dilemma, right? Maybe what you can do is to register with ZDPS during P2B and monitor APS' registration statistics. If there is no balloting for those staying within 1 km from APS, you may then withdraw from ZDPS and apply with the former on the third day of P2C registration. -

Actually, ZDPS is nearer, but definitely not within walking distance.

I have no preference towards APS, but i start to have this dilemma for the following reasons:
1) I seem to hear some parents quite keen in APS and its principals (as they come from relatively better schools??)
2) it's a bit worrying that ZDPS PSLE results seem to be below national standards and also not improving for the past3 years. Though I know results are not the only criteria, their stats makes me worried that the system might not be as good. Hence, it will be good if can hear from parents whose kids already studying in the school on what is actually good/not so good?
* Note: I am not over academic/results-focus, but cannot totally ignore it also..
qms,
how should the monitoring/withdraw goes about? Do it on the 3rd day last hour? How long is the withdrawal process? Will the withdrawal be reflected immediately to the other school? Sorry, I am very alien to all these. Now very stressed!

Why don't you go for ZDPS' open house this Saturday? You will have the chance to speak to the teachers and students on that day. Read up the ZDPS thread in the Parents' Networking section. Parents there are helpful and they will clarify any doubts you have.iMeme:
Assume you register with ZDPS during P2B. Come P2C, on the third day, about 2.30-3 pm, call up APS to enquire on the status of the registration. Should you decide to withdraw from ZDPS and register with APS, to save time, you will need to \"mobilise\" your spouse. One of you will station in ZDPS while the other at APS. The one doing the withdrawal doesn't need the original documents. Hence, the one at APS needs to bring along all the original documents (plus copies) with him/her. The withdrawal process is instant. Once the withdrawal goes through, it is reflected in MOE's system instantaneously. The problem is with the queue for withdrawal because many parents may resort to this tactic. Upon completion of the withdrawal, the parent at APS may proceed to registration.how should the monitoring/withdraw goes about? Do it on the 3rd day last hour? How long is the withdrawal process? I was abit KS.. I actually went to their open house last year. The impression is just so-so. Or was it that I don't know what to look out for? :nailbite:

I remembered asking about the PSLE performance, and the teachers are not able to comment. The principal then is quite new, so I don't expect her to know. In fact, I thought things might change after the new principal comes in. But it doesn't seem to be so.qms:
ok, I hope my doubts will be clarified in time for the registration.Read up the ZDPS thread in the Parents' Networking section. Parents there are helpful and they will clarify any doubts you have.

Oh yes! I forgot that registration for APS will take place at ZDPS. So, you don't have to be stationed at two different places. Definitely easier!
I am not sure how updated the notice board is, so perhaps it is better for you to call the school. I called up the school previously and the staff were very helpful. -
Thank you qms for your advice!

APS will be run by Ex Principal from Maha Bodhi School. Maybe that is one factor you can consider :imcool:Hi,
Can anyone tell me more about AP since it is a new school? What are the chances of getting a place for Phase 2C? Is the whole lot of 240 places open in Phase 2C (since is a new school) or could there be places open for earlier Phases? Thank you. -
Seem like this time round ZDPS is heading up against RMPS in which left 50%
places . RMPS have 56.25% places. :xedfingers: -
My PV submission "bo toh" for RMPs even both of us are Civil Servants and willingly to contribute as much as we can; we even wrote proposal + CVs etc as if job interview :o( β¦ maybe too competitive ?
N really bo bian is tat d feeling is like "u r sentence to death n yet dun knw wat yr crime was" !! as their email said "β¦ Kindly refer to the Terms and Condition for the Parent Volunteer Scheme under Para 6 that the school will not be able share the reasons for non-selection. The schoolβs decision is final and we will not entertain any appeals β¦"
Pls advice the following :-
- as my mum lives at Bt Purmei -> can I use Caretaker phase instead - wat phase will tat be ? As now too disheartening n MOE website din really says β¦
- may consider AP(within 1-2km) or shd I still try phase 2C for RMPS ? TIA for all your advice !!
