There were 9 applicants for 3 vacancies, it was a 1/3 chance.

I called the school on the second day for an update on the number of vacancies before making the decision to register my DS at HIPS.

Yes, thank God! My DS is currently studying in HIPS.
I decided to give it a try as I wanted my DS to study in a Catholic school.
My advice is to call up the school on the second day for an update on the number of vacancies left or drop by in the afternoon on the second day to assess the situation.

I would like to send my DS to Holy Innocents as we are Catholic, but we are from English speaking family (chinese is almost non existent at home), we have concern as it is SAP school. Appreciate if mummies/daddies could share their experience:
- Are there non-chinese students in the school?
- Are all subjects tought in chinese or only selected classes? What are those?
- Any chinese enrichment programmes to help those weak in chinese?
- Are letters between school and parents in Mandarin?

Are you under PV, grassroot or church affiliation???

Historically 1-2km is safe. But that was based on around 60+ places available for 2B. This year, the available place dropped to 39-40 so past trend is not a good guide at this moment.

Will be under church…seems like this year lesser vacancy…so nt sure if will ballot for 2b within 1 to 2 km.

Hi mummyang, I think there were in total of 43 vacancies in phase 2B last year, and 50 people applied in this phase.

Out of the 50, 9 were more than 2KM according to PrydeP so that the rest of the 41 were within 1KM or between 1-2KM.

Hi everyone, thinking of sending my daughter to holy next yr. Catholic staying more than 2km away. Any feedback on the school? Kids happy? Principal good? Homework policy? Thanks in advance for any form of help.

First time replying a post, so hope I am doing this correctly.
I have a boy in P5 and a girl in P3 in HIPS.
For those who are keen in knowing more about the culture and style of HIPS, I would like to suggest that you join us for the annual mid autumn festival.
You can call up the school general office to purchase tickets if you dun already have nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends who are inviting you to buy the tickets.
It's a fun carnival night and I enjoyed it every year for the last four years. It is always well organized and will be a great way for you to visit the school.
This year the tickets are a bit more expensive as they are raising fund for their school upgrading project. However, looks like a lot more effort are being put in!
My children love their school but I agree, it is not one of those elite school with top notch results for all events they took part in. That said, from what the school share with parents through newsletters and from what my children are involved in and reported, they have done well in many many events this year. The school website does not do justice to their achievements this year.
