      ChiefKiasu,

      Thanks for your enlightenment... ๐Ÿ˜„
Just to find out in the case when the address of both parents NRIC is different, is it true that they will only take the father's address into consideration for P1 registration?
This is not normal and you will need to explain why your NRICs reflect different addresses to the school. If your reason is valid and accepted, then the NRIC of the parent where the child will be staying with will be used for the registration.

I have my own house, however I do stay with my parents too, example on every Thursday and Friday. And wife address is update with our new house, but my IC is not updated. Near my parents have a swchool which is less then 1Km, do I still need to ask my parents to go SD. So how ?

          Hi!

Like what Chief KS mentioned previously, it is not normal for both parents to have different addresses in their NRIC. Hence, you will have to explain the difference when it comes to registration.

If you use your parents' address, and go by the caregiver route, you are considered in the 1-2 km category, even though your parents' house is within 1 km from the school. For more information on Statutory Declaration, please visit http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/faqs/#statutory-declaration.

Oh! By the way, you haven't reported at the Newbie section yet, right? Can you please report there? It's the SOP here. ๐Ÿ˜‰

If we declare using grandparents address to do the registration at the moment as non-working foster parents but later part the grandparent / foster parent found a job and goes to work, will there be any issue?

I guessed should be ok as this part is rather grey area. Going out to work maybe could be part time, freelance etc. Anyway you need to take a declaration oath for that.

:? I dont see anything wrong in using the grandparent's address..

In fact, there are many parents out there who use this to beat the system..
They change their address to that of their parents for the P1 registration to
get their child into a school of their choice..
Once the child is accepted... The rest is history.

They must also declare that the grandparents are care giver

Schools may make surprise visit, and chit chat with teachers and classmates may let out the truth

If found to be false declaration, child also got transfer out. truly the rest will be history, and the child suffer psycho damage

parent volunteer is in Phase 2B. assuming that the grandparent's address is <2km, you will be under 1-2km category under Phase 2B.

so, if iโ€™m using grandparent address, it makes no sense for PV? My parentโ€™s address is <2km.
