My take: I'm not sending my children for tuition unless they really need it, i.e., they are below average and/or we can't help them.

Now, I shall quote buds: titank, as thread starter, shouldn't you set a good example by stating your views first? πŸ˜‰
Anyway I don't view it as tuition, I would just view it as enrichment. I also had cut off tuition & the only I had now is chinese. If really the grades are very bad then go back for help again.

weaker students go for tuition to improve their grades

smarter students with good grades go for tuition to learn higher order questions to top the class

the top students go for tuition to maintain the lead over the class, and go for enrichment classes to win competitions

Tuition, enrichment, education guidance, teaching, learning spree, coaching, knowledge sharing, tutelage, apprenticeship etc, these are but different ways to communicate learning from other expert worthy of imparting the knowledge. \"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet\", so effectiveness is really subjective and tuition can be known by different names too. What is important is that the tuitiion can translate to and deliver results.

It will be interesting to share with all, that in the university, the fees paid for university education is actually known as \"tuition fee\". And JC and University \"teachers\" are really called \"tutors\" besides the lecturer who gives lecture to the group.

It doesn't matter whether it is a black cat or a white cat, as long as it can catch mice, it is a good cat. πŸ˜„

I got 2 private tutors from Innowits for my boy recently for EMS and another one for Chinese. The tutors were good and experienced. The Chinese tutor was an ex-school teacher who know the syllabus very well.

Hi, can share why you find the tutors good ? Other than being experienced and ex-school tr. How is their method of teaching ?

Hi belinda, can you give me the number to InnoWits? My friend also said that the tutors they recommend are good.
