Hi TTBCOOL,

The promotion criteria for Year 1 IP is:

Pass in EL and HCL, and obtained 60% in average of all subjects.

If you do not meet the criteria, the school will call the parents and daughter down to discuss the performance.
Some will have to take a retest, depending on the results.

Congratulation to yr girl for getting the excellent result.
IMO, it's a definite to secure a place in St Nicks and she will most likely be placed in the Sec 1 'Stretched Class' next yr.
You opted out IP...there's nothing wrong with that as it depends on your girl. She will not be disadvantaged in the O level track in St Nicks.
If she continues to excel, can consider switching over to IP track after Sec 2 or 3 if she wants.
Way to St Nicks, not too sure. Shd be take train but need to take shuttle bus.
