that lady who is speaking is one of the writers of the book http://www.amazon.com/Einstein-Never-Used-Flash-Cards/dp/1579546951

Still listeninig to it... think ...it is more than flash cards she is talking about. She is basically refering to all the \"educational\" toys and products including the brainy baby DVDs, electronic devices that focus on academic learning.

Her point is children should have time for unstrucured play and focus should be on learning social skillls and EQ instead of academics.

There is an great article that look at her research, GD method and other scientific research related with accelerated learning:

            Hi flashcard gurus,

tried making flashcards with 250gsm but seems too soft - hard to flash. is 288gsm good enough or do we need to get those like 350gsm?

Also, what materials are good for a P1 gal next year?
            Pls advise...

            Thanks! 😄

              Hi Joelle

Have u purchased yr bulk flashcards yet? I am thinking of buying them too but do not know where to buy good and cheap ones. I strongly believe in flashcards. It’s very good for simulating brain cells for babies & toddlers.

                Hi all

juz to share 250gsm paper, u can get those adhesive plastic bags from party supplies shop to wrap the cards instead of laminating. The bags are abt 6 cents each. I got mine from SKP.

Topics for flashcards, one can buy those 1000 words picture dictionary from Times for reference. They should have bulk of the topics. For more topics, u can refer to this site

                Enjoy...

To improve Chinese and memory capacity, one can try san zi jing flashcards. These you would have to make yourself… juz flash words and play cd concurrently.

                    Hi,

To share my experience with flash cards, I have been using flashcards on my gal for the past 3yrs since she was 1yr old. Mostly handmade and supplement by ppt. I should say it is very gd. She picks up lots of vocabs and info from there. After flashing some GD’s BOIs on famous people, she was able to identify "Mao Zhedong" and "Sir Winston Churchill" when she saw their photo on magazines. At the age of 3.5yrs, she is able to
read simple storybks and short poems by herself.

                        Hi,

I don't follow exactly the GD method. My gal is with SM, so I flash words (handwritten on A5 cards). I designed my cards based on Tweedle Wink teacher manual. http://www.rightbrainkids.com. There is a list of commonly used words, phonograms, short sentences etc.
