O, I have tried everything, for the last 30+ years. TO lose weight, it just boils down to one thing. Eat less, exercise more. Every time I got lazy, I will get cheated a few thousand dollars by some freak slimming centres. Then I get back to this basic.

Well, managed to keep out of these gimmicks for the last 6 years. Will want to keep out as long as possible, and just eat sensibly.

I'm actually rather slim for my height - I'm 1.65m and I weigh 47kg. This is my peak weight cos of CNY. I can actually feel a ring of fat around my belly now, but it's disappearing as we move away in time from all that hefty eating. Typically, I'll start to deflate towards 45kg, after which I have to actively remember to eat breakfast or people will wonder why my face is so sunken.

I just lurve food and actually need carbs or I'll start to shake. I don't know if this is my secret, but I eat LOTs of chili!! The hotter the better! Some time ago, some Japanese friends told me that this could be it - the idea is that spicy food will increase your metabolic rate. Because I've always eaten this way, I don't know, but apparently, it is. I don't actively workout btw, although I'm very active - I work half the day, drive the other half or walk/run cos my son is very active, although most of it just me sitting by the side waiting for him as he swims/play soccer/runs. My husband says I burn a lot of nervous energy cos I'm always doing something (like I can't read ksparents without posting, aiya).

Don't want to burn your tongues lah, but anyone here has any experience? Lately, I;ve taken to drinking green tea, which makes me feel really clean but hungry. Think it has some overall positive effect on weight loss too.

Though I am not really overweight, I am already at the top end of the normal weight range. Before marriage, I was on the low end of the normal weight range. After 3 children, my weight has increased about 10kg.

Although I jog every morning (about 20 mins), I still gain weight gradually over the years.

So, recently, I went to sign up a gym membership. I have been going for a week already. I control my diet more, ie cut down on teabreak amount and snacking. I used to munch chocolates frequently, this is the snack I find very hard to resist. I eat like 80 - 90% full. Now, I am starting to lose weight (about 1.5kg lost already). I hope to be able to maintain my current lifestyle and lose another 2 kg. That would be my ideal weight.

Curbing or controlling your appetite and exercising more requires lots of will power. Cheers to those of you who have achieved your ideal weight and maintained it.

              Hi

Anyone can comment on their idea on liposelection/liposuction? I am considering to have to procedure done and my frenz say I am self obsessed! But frankly I lack the confidence I have when I was younger pre-childbirth and my hubby notice it too. Confidence helps at work, socially, in the bedroomโ€ฆ
My hubby said whatever make me happy!

I know some people will think it is a quick fix and also may try to warn me off (I read about the man who died earlier this year!) but I have read some wonderful thing too where it has saved marriages. Hubby and I are not at break up point but I wish I have the confident of my younger days.

Any feedback/personal experiene would help. Positive and Negative.

Doesn't work for me leh. If anything, chilli is the thing that will lead to me putting on weight. With chilli, I eat more. ๐Ÿ˜›

I guess it every women's dream to look slim and no matter how much your friends or colleagues say u look slim but we still feel fat right. I tried all kinds of slimming products off the shelf kind but then the thing is once u stop taking the kgs came bk, sigh! These days after work i jus head off for a 30mins run and pushing myself further in taking part 5km, 10km run. And of course cutting back on food intake even though with exercise. Will see result after a few mths, however not immediate as when we exercise, we are converting fats into muscle too. Mths back i hit my ideal weight but then being greedy during CNY i can feel that layer of fat forming around my waist when i put on my fav jeans. Bo bian got to push myself more ๐Ÿ™‚

                    So it's, gulp, true!

But ya, Funz, in our part of the world, spicy food is so sedap. Ok, other part of the diet is to talk alot, walk too quickly, and maybe gesticulate a lot? Just make sure got room around you hor, or you might give hubby a black eye ...

I read in another forum tat to make your tummy smaller, you need to squeeze your tummy muscles as part of exercise. Another way for the ladies is to wear girdle panty but itโ€™s very uncomfortable.

Yup read that article long time ago. And yes, though chilli is a catalyst and does up your metabolic rate a little, I negate the effects by eating a lot more whenever there is chilli. For people like me, removing chilli from my diet actually helps me lose weight. ๐Ÿ˜‰
