[Tampines] Primary Schools

Hi all


I am staying within 1 km near SHPS but am looking around for more options just in case. SHPS PV are required to clock in 80 hours and on top of that, PV have to help out at least 5 events out of 10. I have just applied and do not know whether I am going to be successful.

My other school within 1km would be Junyuan Pri School. Any idea about this school’s strengths? Any advice?

I am also looking into Tampines Pri but that would be more than 1km.

The PV system does not start for this school earlier except SHPS for children born in 2010.

I need your advice here. I'm staying in Chai Chee and need to register my girl for P1 next year. The only schools that are within 1km from my home are opera estate and east coast primary which are not my first choice. I thought of registering my girl in Gongshang as I'm a former student but the biggest worry is she may have to wake up very early to board the school bus. Does anyone know how long (estimate) is the travelling time from bedok to the school? If class ends at 1.30pm, what time will she reach home and does the school bus pick the students up punctually at 1.30pm once the class ends?

Can I check if there are any parents who reg for their kids for Tampines Pri?
Will be my lo turn to reg next year for P1 2016.
I would like to find out more on hows the academic and well being of the kids in TPS. And hows the standard for TPS?

Hi all, need some advice. My girl (born in 2009) is due to register for P1 next year.

We are staying across the road from Poi Ching. Tampines Pri Sch was my old school.
We are not doing any PV for Poi Ching.

Is it a no-brainer to just go for Tampines Pri or should I give Poi Ching a shot?

If u want to go into Poi Ching in phase 2c, make sure you are able to find a back up school in phase 2c (s) in less than 2km from your house in case cannot enter poi ching. You should do research on past history to see if you have chances of entering the back up school in phase 2c (s). If need to ballot in phase 2c(s), i suggest do not take the risk, better straight away enter tampines primary. Otherwise if phase 2c(s) fail, government will allocate you a school & cannot appeal.

My DD will be registering for P1 next year. I am considering st Hilda or poi Ching (both within 1km). Which one will have a better chance under phase 2c. I was rejected for PV at St Hilda. Is the application PV for Poi Ching over?

Rili need your input.My wife and I are planning to register our son in Tampines Pri for 2016 P1 intake. My wife was an ex student. I have read some thread that tampines pri do not have any alumni…therefore i belive we will fall in the category of 2a2…my qns is: based on your experience is it difficult to get into tampines pri in phase 2a1 or 2a2?thanks in advance

Tampines primary only have Phase 2A2, no 2A1.

This means that -
On Phase 2A1 Registration day in July 2015 :
number of children registered = 0

But, on Phase 2A2 Registration day :
There will be children registered on this day : since all the old boys, old girls kids get enrolled, this date.

Don't worry
your son will be able to enrol into Tampines primary.
From past historical record -
Tampines primary : no balloting involved, in Phase 2A2.
All kids of old boys, old girls got in.

Balloting only encountered in Phase 2C :
for PR staying within 1 to 2 km.
