[Tampines] Primary Schools

Hi parents,

Rili need your input.My wife and I are planning to register our son in Tampines Pri for 2016 P1 intake. My wife was an ex student. I have read some thread that tampines pri do not have any alumni…therefore i belive we will fall in the category of 2a2…my qns is: based on your experience is it difficult to get into tampines pri in phase 2a1 or 2a2?thanks in advance

Tampines primary only have Phase 2A2, no 2A1.

This means that -
On Phase 2A1 Registration day in July 2015 :
number of children registered = 0

But, on Phase 2A2 Registration day :
There will be children registered on this day : since all the old boys, old girls kids get enrolled, this date.

Don't worry
your son will be able to enrol into Tampines primary.
From past historical record -
Tampines primary : no balloting involved, in Phase 2A2.
All kids of old boys, old girls got in.

Balloting only encountered in Phase 2C :
for PR staying within 1 to 2 km.

i staying at the tropica which within 1km in SHPS. but problem i heard SHPS even 1km need balloting. i want try register other school. but other school is within 2km. is it mean my girl have low chance to get in?

What if my girl try register SHPS, then if she unable get the ballot… Can we still try other school which nearby? like tampines primary school or Poi Ching?

I am a newbie here but after exploring the sticky threads and asking around I think I have some sort an idea what to expect this coming July. According to this thread, which past history, shows what to expect in different phases. Here in this thread you can actually previous which phases requires balloting and how high your chances will be.

If your girl doesn't get into SHPS during P2C, you are only able to choose schools that still have vacancies in P2CS. Last year, for instance, both Poi Ching and Tampines were fully subscribed at P2C, so these schools did not even have any P2CS. Balloting in Poi Ching took place for SCs staying within 1 km of the school. Hence you would not even have a chance to participate in the balloting.

Did u check officially that poi ching is not within 1km?

Poi Ching require balloting for less than 1 km.
U dont even stand a chance to ballot for a place, if stay outside 1 km.

St Hilda also ballot, for less than 1 km.

Tampines primary :
also need balloting at Phase 2C : 1 to 2 km (PR)

3 schools mentioned : all need to ballot at P2C
St Hilda, Poi Ching, Tampines :
all full house, by end of Phase 2C.

If fail to ballot in at Phase 2C : can only go forward next for P2C Supp schools.
must have backup standby schools ready, for Phase 2C Supp, check here

My gal is going for P1 next year & we are considering Chongzheng & Yumin .

Can you help to give me some recommendation ? I lived 1km within both school. We are under 2C. Is there any balloting for both school? Anybody can advise? Thanks
