Hi ginakoh, have you checked out the earlier part of this thread yet? -
Hi,
for current PV at KH. How do I go about it? Can I call the school? -
I have signed up as PV. Waiting for the school to call me if I will be selected in May & Jun.

does anyboby know the standard of Kwang Hua now. Heard that it has drop. :?: -
Hi,
There are always such talks about a particular school std has dropped, etc… and personally I wonder what is used as a benchmark to determine if the std has really dropped.
I wonder if the following criterias represent the school std is "intact" :
* Consistently produce top 15 PSLE students?
* Improvement year on year results?
* If they have more than 1 top 15 students in the previous ranking, they must continue to produce that?
* Any others
My kids attend a SAP school and it was my pri school. It used to be labelled as a top school in geylang during my era and recently, there are talks like the std has dropped, etc… Despite that the "std has dropped", it is still position as a premier primary school in Singapore and continues to produce good results. So I guess as parents, we just got to continue to support the school. -

MMM, you are right. There really is no merit to the term \"standard dropped\", because the basis for comparison is different for everyone. Which is why most parents depend on the PSLE results to determine how \"high\" the school's \"standard\" is. -

Hello
I'm new around here and have twins going to P1 next year. I'm within 1km to both Tao Nan and Ngee Ann Primary. I'm concerned my younger twin would find it hard to cope with Tao Nan so am considering Ngee Ann instead. Anyone has kids in that school or knows more about it and can share any info. ?
Thanks! -
Hi fellow parents,
after reading thru this entire thread on pri schools in Geylang, am
happy for all of u. At least u have 1 or more schools within 1km radius.
While of course i do have 1 within 1km radius, that is Haig Girls’. The
rest are more >1km but within <2km>1km
1) Haig Girls
<2km
Nearest
1) Eunos Pri
2) Kong Hwa Pri
3) Tanjong Katong Pri
4) Geylang Methodist Pri
5) Maha Bodhi Pri
6) Canossa Convent Pri
7) Tao Nan
Macpherson Pri
Questions after reading this thread on Geylang School:
- when and where is MBP shifting?
- how is Yu Neng faring?
And kindly share what other advises u may have.
Thanks. -
Are you asking about MBS? If it is, not too sure.
Supposed to move in June this year. Principal mentioned about moving to single session so the move will potentially delay to Jan 2010.
However, my bil who is handling part of the construction project told me that they have been given a timeline to handover by Q2 2009. So I wonder if they are moving or not.
