Former RJC is located at 53, Mount Sinai (Holland, Ghim Moh)Dreamgear:
MOE just announced that the new jc will be ready only in end-2019. The interim site is at the former RJC
Dreamgear.. Where was RJC located ?
That means, the current Y2 & Y3 IP students will not have the chance to study at the new JC campus ?
Nearest MRT is Buona Vista MRT station
If travel by Circle line : from Bishan MRT station (CC15) to Buona Vista MRT (CC22), is quite fast, about 8 station away

Joint Integrated Programme JC
Students interested in applying for direct admission to Catholic High School, CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ School and Singapore Chinese Girls’ School for the Integrated Programme (IP) may wish to note that they will spend their first four years in their respective secondary schools, before progressing to a new government JC to complete their six-year IP course.
The new Junior College will offer the Music Elective Programme, the Bicultural Studies Programme and the Humanities Scholarship Programme. Mdm Cheang Mei Heng will be the Principal of the new Junior College.
Latest update (13 April 2015)
Due to changes in design parameters to meet planning requirements by the relevant agencies, the new JC’s permanent site at the junction of Sin Ming Avenue and Marymount Road has been targeted to be completed by end-2019.
The former Raffles Junior College (RJC) site at Mount Sinai Road will operate as the new JC’s interim campus. The site will be appropriately spruced up, fully furnished and equipped with the necessary facilities and resources in time for the new JC’s start in January 2017. -
Thanks phtthp , Dreamgear…
Thot the temp site of the new JC would be at Bishan, where SJI is currently located… So it was hearsay after all… -

Isn’t the new JC site is at the Bishan golf driving range? Those stay nearby will have to travel Ghim Moh for the temp site…the distance is really far…

Hi parents, I'm an education reporter for The Straits Times. The completion date of the new JC will be pushed back from mid-2018 to end-2019. The holding site for the JC has also changed, from Bishan Street 14 to Mount Sinai (near Holland Road).
These changes mean that current Year 2 and Year 3 students will not get to study at the new JC campus at all, and may have to make new travelling plans with the change made to the holding site.
Any affected parents here? Do contact me at leepearl@sph.com.sg or PM me. Cheers. -
Hi parents, sorry to bother. My name is Amelia and I'm an education reporter for The Straits Times. I'm doing a story on the new junior college that the IP students from SCGS, SNGS and Catholic High are joining. The MOE has asked a traffic consultant to study the traffic patterns around the three current school sites and do a forecast of the new campus' traffic flow. I'm hoping to speak to parents whose children who are entering the new junior college in 2019 (Secondary 1 this year), just to ask how the traffic is like at the current schools. It'd be great if you could contact me at 91903116 or ateng@sph.com.sg today, thank you.

The new JC made a comment that is obviously invalid and stir commotion from the parents…she commented distance should not be a concern for choosing CHS.
If I stayed in the west, why would I choose CHS? There are other gd schools in the west too.
I felt that if we can build blocks and blocks of HDB flats at least 12 storeys high in 2-3 years, why it takes 3-4 years to build a school? MOE needs to let us know the reason.
Traveling long distance will definitely affect resting and learning time. -
On the one hand. Moe advises parents to consider distance and says every school is a good school and now distance suddenly is not an issue. Sigh!

Why did MOE rush to start the Integrated Program of CHS/SNGS/SCGS, when MOE can't even ensure that the new JC campus be ready for its 3rd batch of IP students ?On the one hand. Moe advises parents to consider distance and says every school is a good school and now distance suddenly is not an issue. Sigh!
The current Yr-2 & Yr-3 IP students will not have the chance to study at the new JC campus in Bishan, due to the delay. The current Yr-1 IP students MAY spend 1 year (Yr-6) at the new JC campus, provided there is NO further delay in the completion of the new JC campus.
Even the interim JC campus, which was supposed to be located in Bishan (where SJI is currently occupying) has been changed to Mt. Sinai. I believe most CHS & SNGS students stay in Bishan & Ang Mo Kio areas. The longer traveling time was definitely not in the minds of most students (& parents) who chose to take up CHS & SNGS IP then.
What's the point of promising parents & students of a state-of-the-art design JC campus, high-rise school building with lifts & escalators, roof-top running track etc, when most of the current IP students will not have the chance to study at the new JC campus ? Many students were very disappointed when they were informed of the news by both CHS principal & JC principal last week.
I feel that MOE should give a more detailed explanation of the reasons for the delay, instead of just informing the parents & students of the changes, and expecting them to accept whatever arrangements being made.
