Any supplements or ways to reduce Blood Pressure?
-
hello everyone,
I am reviving this thread to seek advice on treatments for reducing blood pressure for a friend.
Her diastolic pressure ( low reading ) is around 90-100 for a more than a month and on some days above 100. systolic pressure ( high reading ) is within normal range 130 about.
My friend also has sleeping problem, cannot sleep early but waking up very early. I think she only sleeps about 4 to 5 hours daily.
Please share.
Thank you. -
I prepare a glass of celery juice + green apple daily for my DH who has high blood pressure. It has been two months now and we have yet to see improvements but my SIL and my DH’s colleague said from about 4 months onwards then there will be a visible improvement. So we are pressing on!

My friend drinks a glass of celery in the morning and another glass of star fruit juice in the evening for a few weeks but seems no significant improvement yet. -

If taking celery and star fruit, make sure to wash with vinegar to get rid of the pesticide. These 2 are known to retain pesticides easily. Of course if you trust organic then get the organic versions.
Other fruits high in pesticide include berries : strawberries, blueberries etc -
My eldest brother beat his hypertension through a strict regime of daily exercise and home cooked food that has no salt and no oil. Many food has salt in them naturally so there is no need to add more. It took him 4 years to be taken off medication.
Having said that, please do not go off medication without your doctor’s advice as the consequences can be dire. Better to take the medication than to end up with stroke or kidney failure. This was what happened to a friend. She ignored all the warning signs of her hypertension. One fine day, she collapsed due to a ruptured blood vessel in the brain and was in ICU for months. -
It is not just daily exercise n healthy eating that will help to beat hypertension. I feel that being able to handle stress is more important.
I hear of many cases of healthy men n women - going for regular health checks, eating healthy food, doing exercise etc, but at the end of the day, these people just die suddenly. What is the root cause? Stress - the silent killer that no one knows or pay attention to it.
BTW, I dont believe that home cooked food is more healthy than outside food. If you only cook dishes that are not fried, no red meat, little salt/little sugar, then maybe its healthy but I will find it boring.
I try to home cook not becos I can want to eat healthy food but becos eating out is too ex.
Sorry - no offence intended. I just wanted to share my personal opinion! -
OT: I do think home cooked food will be cleaner and thus healthier.

First, I think she needs to seek medical advice as diastolic between 90-100 is considered hypertension.hello everyone,

There are a few factors that can cause high blood pressure and one of them is lack of sleep and stress. I suggest that your friend do some exercise during the day and take note of diet, less salt. Celery juice may help too but if it doesn't go down after having enough sleep, exercise and healthy diet then she must consult a doctor.
My blood pressure suddenly hit 140/90 few days before CNY. As I have a family history of hypertension, I went to consult a family doctor. However, the doctor told me to monitor first as they will not start medication immediately. So I started to sleep early, reduced my workload, exercise 4 times a week (2 days jog, 2 days swim). And watch my diet. After a few weeks, I felt my body is better and my BP actually dropped till normal.
When I hit 140/90, I drank celery juice. It immediately dropped the next day but diastolic level is still ard 85 and then the BP when up again. So drinking celery juice may not be sufficient to bring down BP. I hope my experience may help.
