Thanks for your replies. Any comments from those who had taken both Econs and history?
My DD took H2 History n Econs. In that year when she took her A levels, she used her knowledge from History for the GP paper.
What would u like to know?
Would like to know 1)which subject require more memory work? 2) my DD is able to do v well for history in sec school (however referring to my earlier post she is also taking bio and chem both are heavy in memory for a levels and also now we are talking about a higher level), is A levels history similar to sec school ? 3) is Econ’s easier to score compared to history? So she is considering to choose a subject of her interest like history or should she choose a subject easier to score like Econs? 4) what is required (language skills ...) to score well in these 2 subjects? Thanks!
I don't trust MINDEF but since it's an obligation that we LL have to go through, the only safe thing to do is to take care of yourself (and yes, if it means you have to 'geng', just do it). All those kenna 'psycho' in schools about 'do your best', 'for country', 'be a leader', valuable life experience etc are just BS.
I agree with u wholeheartedly - what they teach is all BS.
DS learnt his lesson the hard way although he went into NS in good faith n trust in our Army.
Perhaps I shld thank MINDEF for opening his eyes into the real world!!!!

I’ll still trust MINDEF. I’ll still let my son go fulfill his responsibilities to the country, but pray for his safety. I’ve been sharing such incidents with him, to alert him to be alert & also watch for his mates. Even when he’s involved in CCA, told him always to watch for his teammates too. Care for them like you would care for your brother. Hope this helps prepare him eventually when he’s called for NS.
NS is mandatory so u hv no choice but to let yr DS fulfill his duties.
I was also like you - trusting MINDEF n refusing to believe what I hear from others. UNTIL my son got enlisted last year and what he went through, I now believe others n no longer trust MINDEF.
For those who want to minimize the risks of NS is to get a certified medical condition n be downgraded to PES D - there is no need to chiong but just sit in the office n do admin work. -
RE: Let's Talk about National Service
Slept early last night n only knew this when my DS WA me first thing this morning.
I teared when I read the news.
Although I am not related to Alysious Pang, I am a mother who has a son who is also doing his part to serve the nation. My fears increase each time I read this type of news n it seems such news are becoming frequent. I believe many mothers out there whose sons are/will be enlisted share the same feelings as me.
It doesn’t matter if he is a home grown actor or just an ordinary man. Why are there so many NS related deaths?
