                Hi,

any idea why the current batch of P1 cannot register their CCA yet?
Does it mean we have to wait till next year before we can register?

                Thanks!

But I thought they only explained for not extending the Cca to p1 in 2016.

They did not quite address why the p2 in 2016 cannot register yet right?

Maybe they want to see the take up rate first?

Yes, need to see how is the take up rate, first.

Since CCA is compulsory from P4 to P6 : priority is always given to (P4 to P6) pupils first.
Any vacancies left : will then be filled up by P3 next, lastly followed by P2.
If demand exceed vacancies, may ballot, particularly when a CCA is popular.

2016 P2 can only register in January Term 1, start of a new academic year.

Every student from P2 to P6, allowed to participate / take up only One CCA, so as to ensure that all pupils have a fair chance of getting a Cca.
Not allowed to take up more than one CCA.

All the various CCA are good, train up a child's character.
Outdoor activities & socialization improve a child's empathy, EQ, ability to work in a team, enabling the child to communicate better & to thrive.

                        Momof2childs:
One other thing I wanted to check was that how do they offer CCAs ? And when do they start CCAs in p1 ?

I believe in p1, CCA is not compulsory but most kids would still be taking them, right?

My daughter is interested in swimming and drama.
How to make sure she gets into those?
                        wef 2016 -
Cca will not be offered to P1 students.
School need P1 students to settle into primary school, in their first year.

Cca only start from P2, onwards.
                        for P2 :
only 5 Cca (Choir, Basketball, Band, Table Tennis and Rhythmic gymnastics) to choose from, wef 2016

                        refer point 2b (Cca policy)

Drama (Acting) Cca : start from P3. (Primary 3)
                        refer #19, listed
(note the fees charged, per year)

                        Drama Cca
This Cca seeks to help students in improving one's confidence and also to build on the student's ability, to portray different characters, when time come.

Students in this Cca take on different role.
Roles can be the backstage hands, small role, or even the main, leading character role, in a drama scene.
Students learn through play and interaction, a lot of communication skills involved.
