          Tamarind,

Sorry. My son disturbed me just now. I'm not saying the teacher is not good. Is the arrangement by the school. I know both of them trying their best but I think they cannot cope because Teacher Wu need to teach other classes for Chinese and Teacher Lilian has her own class to take care.

I have read your blog, is slightly different. this year they learn about, movement - gear, pulley system, kinetic energy and potential energy, water - water cycle and now on human body - 5 senses, the brain, disgestive, etc. As for spelling, the words are related to the theme.
hey i can see you have lots of info about pcf. can u help me decide about blk 309 chong pang and blk 507d wellington circle. if u have any info. thanks in advance

Blk 309 is doing Reggio Emilia, different from other PCF centres.

How well-prepared your child is for p1 depends on whether you supplement with external enrichment like phonics class, math class, English class, Chinese class, which is what parents do nowadays to prepare children to P1. A kindergarten is more for learning the very basics and learning to cope in social situations. More advisable to put in kindergarten then to homeschool as the child can grow up to be withdrawn. 没有见过世面。

My friend's child is studying there. Personally, my friend coaches her child at home to prepare for P1 as what the child learns in school is insufficient to meet P1 standard. She told me this 309 do more on project work. Her child enjoyed it. However, the negative feedback was the high turnover of teachers and the previous principal left. As the child will be in the last year, she didn't think about changing school. Hope the info is useful.

Why you all so kiasu? All K2 students in any kindergarten are more than ready for P1.
It is nothing so special about P1. It is not university level.
MOE is not stupid and follows according to world education standards requirements.
It is compulsory for all schools P1 to be able to cope with all levels of children even without any kindergarten past. So even if your child has not gone to kindergarten, she/he will still able to cope in P1. Only children who required special needs school cannot cope in P1.
The real challenges in children educations start from second year of secondary school. First year of secondary is a year to let children cope with their new surroundings.
If you worried, kiasu and rich, you can consider sending your children to private tuitions and 2-3 kindergartens everyday including all holidays.
