I would like to find news/magazine articles to expose my son to read on a daily basis. Is there any recommendation on when I can get a daily dose of such articles?

          lnjason888,

For your composition classes, will the students be writing composition in class? Do you also conduct lesson for comprehension?

          Thanks

Hi, does anyone know the marking scheme of the comprehension? Looking at my dc’s practice and exam papers, I noticed that certain 3 or 4 marks questions were given very low marks although the answers were quite closed to the model answers. TIA.

Hi, I do not know about the marking scheme for PSLE Comprehension but chance upon the above past year paper where there is a breakdown of how the teachers gave the marks. Very tough 😓

I am not so sure about magazine, but for news, you can go to the straits time link http://www.straitstimes.com/ or http://www.todayonline.com/, or you can get hardcopy newspapers at any retail stores.

Are there any useful strategies for 短文填空?

This is one segment that my potato boy keeps losing marks. I am able to help him in other segments except this, as his Chinese vocabulary is not strong.

                    Thanks in advance…

                        difference and how to use

                        1) \"的“ and \"地”?
                        2)“竟然” and \"居然“?
                        Hi PSLEstress,
                        1) 的 precedes nouns
                        敬爱的总理、慈祥的老人、戴帽子的男孩、珍贵的教科书、鸟的天堂、伟大的祖国、有趣的情节、
                        优雅的环境、可疑的情况、团结友爱的集体、他的妈妈、可爱的花儿、谁的橡皮、清清的河水

                        地 precedes verbs/actions

                        http://zhidao.baidu.com/question/358066053.html

                        2) 竟然 和 居然
Both are adverbs; meaning unexpectedly (出乎意料)
                        居然 is more emphatic (语气略重)

                        例句:
                        今天聚会你居然不到。
                        这么重要的事,你居然忘了。”
                        你居然来了!(nuance: 我不希望你来,你厚着脸皮来了)
                        你竟然来了!(nuance: 我本来希望你来,但没想到你真来了)
                        http://xh.5156edu.com/page/z2941m2581j19415.html

Will update when I find more examples of 竟然 & 居然. Hope this helps.
