oh dear, sad to hear that.

You mean they didn't hold supplementary classes to help the average students?

In dilemma now, not sure if Anderson is a good school.....
They do have remedial classes for p3 and p4 for the students. Just that when there are other extra enrichment stuff like public speaking, it's only limited to selected outstanding students.

Any parents with kids going on P 1 next year?

Went to the school two days back to register and realise the compound is quite tight… Wonder how jam packed will it be for vehicles during drop off and release?!
I’m thinking of joining the parents support group… Anyone know what do they really do there?

Hi I have 2 children who are from Anderson. One still there and another graduated not too long ago.

It is a good school with good programs. One of the better ones in this area for sure.
Both my kids have had opportunities. If you are looking for equal opportunities then this school does not have it. My older one went for 3 overseas trips. Second one didn't get any chance. Bad planning I think for this. Otherwise above average in everything else. Principal is approachable-not as was mentioned by another post. They do not have Open House as they need to allow other schools nearby struggling with enrollment to have the limelight. If you wish to tour the school, you can always ask. There is a waiting list not only for P1 but across the levels.

They allow drop off and pick up right into the school. I have no problems with this.PVs and School staff even open and close doors to make it easier for the kids-cannot ask for more. You need to abide by the times though for safety reasons. Community Hospital next door relocated their entrance suddenly but school has put in extra personnel etc.

They only take up to a certain number so you have to register fast. Beyond that they do not as they do not believe in balloting for PVs at P1 registration. Not fair after so much of hard work. So if they open 40, so far all 40 can apply for place and get in.PVs do a lot form morning safety duties to recess work etc.

Higher Chinese yes from P1 to P3 then they choose after banding exercise at P4.Am non Chinese, the HCL gave a headstart for my first but made my second struggle. They have extra classes for those struggling. The teachers are awesome-generally. Very dedicated-mostly.
Totally not true.I find they do more than many schools. That is the problem. Each day ends late because there is so much going on.But then again you can opt out for most if you are not interested.
For things like MO and certain competitions , the cream gets chosen-logically.

I did not put my kids into my alma mater tho it is a premiere school and I have no regrets. My kids are grounded in values, know how to interact with all types of peers and they love their school. They are happy, I am very happy.
              Hope the above helps.

No more higher Chinese from P1 onwards. My P1 son is taking normal Chinese this year.

I think if the kid is good in CL, then will be recommended to take HCL in P5 & P6.

Previously Anderson started with higher chinese in P1, then in P5 they will be streamed into 2-3 classes of higher chinese based on P4 result.

Starting 2015, moe introduced new Chinese textbook to P1. From that year onwards, new P1 starts with normal Chinese in Anderson. The HOD said that in order for school to teach higher Chinese, they need extra lessons per week, then their art and music classes also have be taught in Chinese, so not many schools can meet such requirements set by moe. Didn't ask when will this new batch of students(currently P2) be offered higher Chinese. I guess probably P5.

                        Dear parents,

Do you heard about the north south expressway which will built just nearby Anderson primary school? I just realized this news and really worried about the school environment after the construction started, pollution and noise.

                        What do you think?
