All About Church/Clan/Society Membership

Hi ! Am very nervous ! My girl needs to register for P1 tis year. Just in the process of finding 2 SHHK members. Anyone any idea of SHHK next meeting for member approval ? Very scare can’t made it in time for registration for recommendatn to NCPS ? And also the tenure of membership plays a part ? Chances very slim…?

SHHK accept membership applications all year round, but they will collate all applications and approval of membership application is decided during Council Members’ meetings, held every quarter of the year. There is probably one coming up in March. If you are successful, you’ll receive the notification in April, which is barely 3 months to the date of registration (phase 2B registration should be around July).


NCPS is a very popular school in Seng Kang, thus, the SHHK would be quite selective in handing out the recommendation letter, esp. when your membership tenure is so short. Most of the time, the Clan will stress that minimum membership tenure is 2 years.

May I know Maris Stella is affliated with which church? I'm a catholic, but I dun belong to any church. In fact, I think catholic can go to any church? :?


A friend told me can ask the church that I frequent writes a letter to the school. can that be done?

Phase 2B definition, for the church part is \"..... for a child whose parent is a member endorsed by the church/clan directly connected with the school... \", besides the PV and grassroots part. Maybe u can call up the school to ask?

i'm not within 1km leh, i stay in yishun, the nearest caholic sch is catholic high, but that is way too difficult to get in. phase 2b alone has balloting for 2b <1km.:(

Yeah u are right. MS did not conducting balloting under 2B for the past 3 yrs. Definitely better chance there.

The one-time sign up fee is $500, annual membership is $24.00.

Are you staying within 1km of NCPS? If you or your spouse has the time, better to sign up as PV with the school. If you're accepted as a PV, as long as you clock in the min. 40 hours, you'll get the chance to register under phase 2B, whereas being clan members does not automatically \"qualify\" you to register in phase 2B.
