Correct, normal Chinese still have to take Chinese in year 5/6. If they pass o level higher Chinese, can take abi initio. Unless your child really want to take abi initio, theres no point taking HMT. For Science, Chemistry is one of the most important subject. Any recommendations in which to take Physics or Biology? Which one is more easy to tackle?

For Humanities, among History, Geography & Literature? Which are the 2 subject recommendations?

My son is planning to try for SJI IP (academic) through DSA. I just wanted to find out how the interview will be held, ie. is it one to one or group, how many and who will the interviewers be, any questions that you could share?

Would appreciate any tips you can think of.

Yes, Chinese B (SL) is the easiest to score the maximum mark compared to ab initio.

I assume you're referring to secondary 3/4 subjects?
For Science, chemistry is compulsory - physics/bio depends on the student. If he is good at applying concepts then Physics would be manageable, Biology requires less application and more memorization. If your son is in sec 2 now, you can look at his exam paper and see where he is strong/weak in.

For humanities, Geography is easier to score (both in sec3/4 and IB) than History. Not sure about literature. The subject itself is not so important, since most students will be taking economics as their humanities in year 5/6.

Can I ask for Sec 1 history test tomorrow. Is the whole of history textbook going to be tested? As the topics are : Tracing singapore origin and life in colonial singapore. The whole textbook only these 2 topics. A lot to study for the test i think.

I believe It would be compulsory for students in the IP.

For students in OP, would be useful if want to transfer to IP at the end of Sec 2.

I would like to check if any seniors or parents with boys who has gone through the job shadowing programme can shed some details/information on the sec 4 job shadowing programme? Do the boy need to find their own "job" or the school will help to do the match? What is the commitment, like hours, criteria, etc? Would appreciate any form of information/details very much.
