Wah Lexy, you are great! Tks.
The traditionally balloting schools (2 of them) in the area you stayed in should be balloting within 1km this year. The girls school you also looking at is fine under 2C. Chances for the other schools apart from the 2 schools are fine as well.Lexy:

Thanks Lexy and Galaxyrider.
Actually my considerations go beyond the Phases (and am still procrastinating at this 11th hour). The chances of getting my gal into Ai Tong through Phase 2A1 is high. However, it is very far from home. So I am still adopting a wait and see attitude in case I need to make a \"life-changing\" decision in Phase 2C. But from the looks of it, I also don't dare to play play in Phase 2C - the schools of my choice typically need balloting even for those living within 1km.
Counting down to tmr!
You have to make the decision later on the distance versus alma mater of your DH.
I shortlisted the girls school (CHIJ Kellock) precisely cos the 2 schools within 1km usually need to ballot. Kellock is still within 2km but much much nearer than Ai Tong (ATS) and I kind of like what it can offer in terms of holistic development; at least from reading its website.
Frankly, I came from a neighbourhood primary school and did pretty ok in life, haha, so I am not brand conscious. But hubby swears by his alma mater and is committed to the ferrying duties. Between an almost guaranteed place in ATS and near-certain balloting in the 1km schools, I have very little impetus to argue otherwise apart from the distance (which I must admit is a a huge consideration for me still).
Anyway, not sure how true, but I heard ATS isn't stressful at least for P1 - this is from a friend who has a boy in ATS and enrolling her girl this year. I have yet to hear from any parents with kids in ATS from this forum though. Happy to hear any views on ATS! :rahrah:[/quote]I also came from a neighbourhood primary school. Currently my kid's school is more 12km from my home. It's still a hard work to wake up evey morning to send him to school, we also arrange someone to send him back. My kid, sleep during the car ride (everyday!) so to me, he wakes up the latest in school. Logistics is never easy but it depends on how your kid cope with it. I feel happier than the kids during school holidays as I also have sleep holidays!
It's no harm to bring your kid along and get a feel of the school while you also can find out more if you visit the school. -

please don't be like me. I forgot to bring my psle cert or report book! I thought I had double and triple checked but NO?
I asked the officer: If I'm an alumni, means I graduated from the school, right?
But he said NO.
so, i have to go back in the afternoon....
sigh, been watching Parliament last few days until become like that. -

For P1 registration purposes, being an alumnus means you have joined the alumni association. Different schools might work differently. In my case many many years ago, for my alma mater, I had a membership card and number.:slapshead: :slapshead: :slapshead: :slapshead: :slapshead: :slapshead:

If you graduated from the school but did not join the alumni association, you are considered an ex-student. In this case, you are only eligible for registration under phase 2A2, not 2A1. -
