It depends on how much your CD is willing to put his/her job on the line for you. MOE states minimum 2 years of active service, if word gets out that the CD is willing to recommend a GRL with less than 2 years for endorsement then it might open up a whole can of worms, and this is under audit too. Most are not willing to recommend, and adviser will also need to sign on the endorsement so not likely that under 2 years can get letter of endorsement.

From what I have check from my side, there is no other way other than minimum 2 years with track records, no appeal will be entertained.

Hi, can i ask, does being a PAP member considered as a grassroot leader? As in join the PAP as a volunteer instead of RC/CC etc.

Hi all, am new to this and would appreciate if anyone can help me with me query.

(1) If i am staying in a GRC, do i volunteer at the GRC or do i have to volunteer at an RC or NC?
(2) If i am staying at a different GRC as the school i want, do i volunteer at the GRC of the school or where i stay to qualify for P2B?

I would really appreciate your help with the following questions:

1) With regards to being a community member, does that refer to signing up as a volunteer with PA and filling up the Volunteer Registration Form?

2) Can we volunteer with any of the various committees (CCCs, RCs, NCs, CSCs, CCMCs, etc)? Or are there specific committees that hold more activities or give us a greater chance of becoming an executive member/active community member status in good time?

3) How long does it usually take to be endorsed as an "active community member", and what are the specific titles (eg. EM) that grant us "active community member" status?

4) How long are we supposed to be "active community member" in status, before the July registration for our children?

The letter will only let you apply for schools within your GRC or SC.

Hi everyone,


Just to clarify: suppose my child's Primary 1 registration exercise falls in last week of June 2020 (for the school year 2021), and I'm supposed to serve a minimum of 2 years as AM or EM, does that mean I have be move from observer to being confirmed as AM/EM by a certain date in 2018, such as June 1st or something?

Also, where can I find specific info that says the two years of active community service starts from the AM or EM phase, and that the months as observer do not count? Did anyone here taking this route get an email saying something along those lines? I can't seem to find any info online. Thanks!
