For p6 parents in the 24* and 25* range, which are the sec schools that you are looking at to send your kids? I am still looking at my list.

My boy and I are thinking of putting this.
24x

1. Catholic High O-level
2. Chung Cheng High Main
3. Maris Stella
4. Presbyterian High
5. Ang Mo Kio Sec
6. Beatty Sec

I have Cath High and Maris in my list too. Chung Cheng High is a good sch and I heard many PCPS kids like to go there, but it is quite far.
Yes!! Distance and travelling time are my biggest concern. Many PCPS students like this school as well as Dunman. We might end up putting MS as 2nd choice.

Same, I keep swopping my choices around and question if it is the correct choice. I am very concerned on distance and traveling time too. Your choice 5 & 6 are just indicated for fear the front of the schools don’t meet right?

minmin27, choice 5 & 6 are indeed just for backup, just in case. I think most likely my boy will end up in MS or CCH.

What about CHS? His score just meets COP or differs slightly. If yes, I am in the same dilemma as you, thinking if I should try a school with scores of 1 or 2 pointer more.

This year P5, I think there are 5 HCL classes 5A to 5E. If next year, there are only 4 such classes, can I conclude that our cohort is weaker compare to this year P5 as number of students who qualified for HCL become lesser?

If I not wrong, madam Ler did mentioned she proud of this year P4 cohort bcos they tend to achieve wonderful academic result. Eg: Last year abt 20% out of P3 level go Kheng Cheng PS sit for GEP round 2 exam. Year end every class hv 5 kids received academic award instead of 3.

Next year P5 HCL reduce to 4 classes shd b due to New principal set new criteria to enrol HCL.

Eunice, we are thinking about the same thing. I also remember what Mdm Ler said and thought it was strange that less than 50% of our current P4 will be taking HCL next year. It is supposed to be a stronger cohort. Given that we are also a SAP school, I thought more students should be taking HCL but again, I know new p is not really supportive of this HCL. I heard in P5/P6 level briefing, he was trying hard to sell the idea that HCL is not important, explaining to parents how the additional points work.

Hi Sean Wife,
My daughter told me she mentioned in Founder's day dinner in year 2017. She did invited to speech on the stage (That time she already in NYPS). She quote P3 GEP case. She proud of 2016 P3
