Hello Everyone,

My boy will be fall in the 2020 in-take.
I have dilemma in my decision.

We stay in TPY, and it happened that my DH is alumni of HPPS.
Distance b/w our house to HPPS is more than 10km. So far i have checked with the appointed school bus service, there is no bus service around my area to HPPS.

While it is possible to send my boy to school in the morning, fetching him in the afternoon is a challenge.
Also if there are days whereby my DH cannot send DS to school, it will be also an issue.

Should i continue to consider HPPS ?
Other options i am considering MSHS ( 2C - but outside 2km)
Backup option KCS ( 2C- within 1KM)

What are the available transport options i have if i remain to stay in TPY and opt for HPPS ?

Care to share with me your point of view ? :imdrowning:

MSHS is option may not be feasible. usually close up within 2km.
if you are staying near KC, you should be near to Pei Chun.

if you decide to stay in TPY and opt for HPPS, may have to consider after school care. Think the school has one.

Pei chun is out. Balloting is a sure thing.
Yes. After school care is another headache. To choose within the school or choose area with TPY.
Between Pei Chun and MSHS, if you stay within 1km of Pei Chun, you have a higher chance at Pei Chin than MSHS. For more than 2km, MSHS represent no chance- don’t think can even can a ballot chance.

I think KCS is a better option. It's not a bad school. My friend sends his children there and so far they're doing fine. And it's so much more convenient to have a nearby school as long journey is too taxing for young children. They won't be able to concentrate well in school as a result. And I don't think HPPS is that much superior anyway. At the end of the day, it's still up to individual student as both HPPS and KCS do not have affiliated secondary school.

Hi, i am new here…

I am ex gal from RMPS but lives at SK. Am planning to use my parents address for my son entry into RMPS in 2020.
However notice that despite being dragon yr, there’s only 210 places down by 30…
So assume that next yr will also be 210?
Any chance for my son to get into RMPS in phase 2a2?

High chance balloting for <1km as they only have 24 seats left for 2A2. Please note that if you sign SD, you can only be considered as 1-2km, not <1km, even if your parents live next to the school. No harm trying, but prepare a school for 2C just in case.

However my son will only be enrolling next yr… so am wondering if next yr will have higher chance of getting in phase 2a2

Hard to say as the stats change every year, but next year (snake babies) there might be lesser children compared to this year (dragon babies).

Hi fellow parents,

My son will also be registering next year for 2020 intake. We’re living in Toa Payoh and within 1km of Pei Chun.

We are alumni of Pei Hwa Presbyterian and Kong Hwa, preferred choice is still Pei Chun due to proximity, however we are still on the fence whether to enrol 2A2 or try our luck with 2C.

Also, how do the three schools measure up to each other, would deeply appreciate any insights. Thank you!

Hi Parent, I am confused. My son born in 2014 Dec, when should I register him? I should enrol him in year 2020 and register in 2019, right? Thanks.
