Every year same for Rulang 2C <1km, hot balloting.
What are chances for rulang phase 2c and <1km this year?
Now TUR 63% till 2A1, 2B and 2C probably less than 30 places each. -
I be registering under Phase 2B SC>2km for CHIJ OLN.
Base on past history so far, there is no ballot required.
Worried if I should have a backup plan in case worst happens. -
Thanks for the replies to my earlier queries about TKPS. I am not quoting the thread to save screen space

Wanted to understand the application and withdrawal \"tricks\" in phase 2C.
MOE Website lists phase 2C registration as
Online registration : From 29 July 2019 to 31 July 2019
Registration at school : From 30 July 2019 to 1 August 2019
1) Does this means I have a choice to do online registration or do the registration at school?
2) If can register at school (from day 2), means I can wait till end of day one and check the websites who show number of applicants at end of day 1, to decide whether to risk for my 1st choice or activate the 2nd choice by going to school directly on day 2 or 3.
https://balloting.xyz does seem to have updates per day for this year.
Are there other sites as well, we can follow? Seems calling the school to ask for updates might not work all the time.
3) Can I register for a school on day 2 and based on end of day 2 stats go to the school and withdraw on day 3 and go to 2/3 choice on day 3 itself ? I understand we need to withdraw application before registering for a new school. Is this withdraw and new application process possible within the same phase? or I must wait for phase 2C results and withdraw and register during 2CS
In other chat groups it seems lot of parents are registering and withdrawing easily. So I was wondering if this \"gaming\" the system really works.
Thanks in advance for guidance / feedback. -
Depending on ur risk appetite, only register on the last 2A2 afternoon so that you can assess if you can even get to ballot for Rosyth >2km and consider to switch to St Gab if you don't want or no chance to ballot at Rosyth.
Again, depending on ur risk appetite, can always try for ncps at 2c but have a safe backup for 2cs.
All the best!Trinius\" post_id=\"1919202\" time=\"1562905955\" user_id=\"179376:
Need advise as Iโm in a Dilemma. Iโm currently trying Rosyth Primary under 2A2 but the take up rate is pretty high and we might end up balloting. So if we donโt get a seat, my other choices...
1) nan Chiau Primary (within 1km)
2) St Gabriel Primary (more than 2KM)
Actually St Gab also falls under 2A2 but we went ahead with Rosyth instead.
Would u think we might stand a chance for nan Chiau ? The applicant rates Super high and itโs worrying too.
Hopefully we succeed with Rosyth but gotta prepare for the worse scenario too. -

Withdrawal can be same phase, even same day or next hour. Must bring both parents' ID to submit.

Now OLN TUR at 2A1 is 27%, pretty safe. 2B probably turn out the same as previous years, no ballot at all.

You can monitor Katong/OLGC as well. -

Orb thank you!
You need to set a threshold what ratio that you can tolerate. eg: 1:2 (50%), 1:3 (33%) per vacancy... once hit, time to withdraw and go to your backup plan.howard1019\" post_id=\"1919142\" time=\"1562897947\" user_id=\"175129:
We stay around Tampines area, both Poi Ching & St. Hilda's are within 1KM, the rest schools within Tampines are within 1-2KM. We are SC and going to register under 2C phase.
St. Hilda's is too HOT to apply, so Poi Ching is our 1st choice, but look at the historical data, thinking it's high chance this year balloting will be required within 1KM. So better to have a backup plan. Considering Gongshang, Tampines, Junyuan, which one will be the best next choice? Any suggestions are welcome.
If you are activating your backup plan in 2C, you should be avoiding schools that have balloting Don't waste your 2C chance. Also, do not get caught out as there is possibility of parents coming in last minute and squeezing you out triggering balloting within 1km in your backup school.
In phase 2CS, go for the schools that have plenty of vacancies so you need not go through the agony of balloting.
Good luck.
You are right, a threshold will be set for activating backup plan. whether go for another school under 2C. But also have to closely motioning other backup school list as well.
Thank you for your kindly suggestions. Now need to prepare the list.. -

Also dont be fool into thinking its easy, withdrawing and registering is no mean feat. Which parent station at which school? withdraw at 230pm, or 330pm? what is the best route to travel to the next school? will you be on time? during the same time, are other parents doing the same thing?
Withdrawal can be same phase, even same day or next hour. Must bring both parents' ID to submit.kit_SG\" post_id=\"1919234\" time=\"1562911243\" user_id=\"175360:

Based on current TUR of 35% after 2A1, Poi Ching has a very high chance not to ballot for <1km and even if ballot is high odds. 2A2 should add another 9% to 44% TUR at 2A2, which is historically low. I would suggest to monitor and go in on last 2C day.
What do you mean by backup plan? Phase 2Cs backup? Or alternatives to Poi Ching?floppy\" post_id=\"1919143\" time=\"1562898445\" user_id=\"97579:

Phase 2C:
Gongshang will also ballot < 1km like St Hilda, Poi Ching. Just out of the fire, but back into the flying pan.
Junyuan shoo-in for < 1km but may ballot > 1km.
Tampines shoo-In for SC.
St. Hilda can forget about it, too risky.
Thank you Davischew, yes. If look the history. This year seems like have more seats compare with last years at the same phase. But worry about the applicants will jump once reached 2C. Need to keep eye open big and watch.
We will totally forget about St. Hilda....not dare to try... -

Yes, but was concerned about distance. Hence why we considered BTPS or QTPS. We are catholic, but the options seem far from where we live and I think distance plays a impt factor
Given earlier scenario of entering into both SJI + CHIJ TPY (which is equally if not further), I wonder why distance become a concern for de lasalle?
Both SJI and CHIJ TPY will be filled up with SC during 2B, do not consider.Lexy\" post_id=\"1919204\" time=\"1562906134\" user_id=\"12180:
OK, consideration for 2B (Catholic) PR > 2km, for twin boy and girl. Is there any chance for PR balloting in 2B for SJI Junior and CHIJ TP? Since we qualify for 2B anyway, but I was told usually SC have to ballot. I also don't know what we will do if one of them gets in... do we pull out and stick to co-ed options, or try another school nearby so school run won't be mad...
Backup for 2C is Bukit Timah (further away) or Queenstown (nearby), both which are co-ed. I quite like the mix of nationalities in BTPS but worried it is quite small and further away. QTPS don't know much, but seems bigger and its nearby, although I see a lot of construction happening. Is QTPS popular? I hear BTPS is safe. I didn't hear much about NewTown so not considering. Appreciate your views on the 2C options. We stay <1km QTPS/NYPS.
Have you considered de lasalle? Co ed catholic school. Both kids can go same school and you can secure during 2B
QTS, should be filled with SC. too many developments there and recent years the take up rate is raising.
You are left with bukit merah area like cantonment, gan eng seng, blangah rise or clementi area like Clementi and pei tong and BTPS as you mentioned. If you prefer BTPS over say De lasalle, then i think you can proceed to 2C with BTPS. If you have a preferred school under 2C that may have harder chance like QTPS, you may want to secure a school at 2B first, as a PR, 2C is a fight zone you really want to avoid.
I think i say enough.
