      1. Yes those girls who went SJI and ACS will do the 2 yr IB there.

      2. Results are comparable to schools like Nanhua . My friends who teach at top JCs told me they see similar numbers of NHH and CGS girls there. But NHH has a very different culture from CGS. More Chinese, hardly other races seen. See which one the child prefers.
      3. The school I feel keep a good balance of academic work and projects/presentations. Yes expect daily use of the slate and the use of software like Photoshop PowerPoint , video editing etc. Timing consuming but they will get better at it. And it makes school work more interesting.
      4. My girl likes her teachers so far. Some of them were my sis (CGS alumni) teacher from over 15 yrs ago and still well loved over the years.
      5. For sports CCA there are two trials-first to determine eligibility to trial for sports and 2nd to trial for the different sports. CGS has strong sports teams so that’s expected. Similarly for the performing arts they have been scoring well at SYF so need to go thru more stringent auditions too.

CGS is a good heartland school, compared to MGS, SCGS with power Alumni support and track records in studies and sports.

When you mentiined Crescent Girls', the wow effort isnt there compared to MGS,SCGS or SAP NH.

CGS sports achieve not very strong.
            Hockey, softball are the strongest.
Yes, Perf Arts groups scored well.

                  hello ! i will be a sec 3 crescentian next year πŸ˜†
                  1. my cohort had ~30 girls taking msp at first, though now there are less than 20 of them continuing.
i'm not sure if that's the norm or that it'll change from batch to batch though
                  2. yes it is possible to take both msp and mep to sec 4 !
as mep is considered higher music, it will count as a pure humanities subject and can replace core geog/lit/hist
with a double science double humanities combination + msp, it is possible to take both msp and mep as o level subjects
however this means it is almost impossible to take triple sci with mep+msp as that would mean taking 10 subjects (strongly discouraged and it is only allowed on a case-by-case basis handled by moe)
                  hope i helped you ! πŸ˜†

Just ask your questions here for everyone to benefit, and parents will be able to reply.

ok can. How many HCL classes are there in CGS? If a child goes in without HCL, will she be able to take HCL subsequently and what are the criteria?

                    1. in sec 1&2, my cohort had 3 classes of higher chinese students (around 18-25 students per class if im not wrong)
                    2. yes, it is possible to take hcl at secondary level without having taken it at pri sch level. the requirement is an A* for normal chinese at psle and a t-score in the top 10% of the cohort. it is also possible to appeal to take hcl in sec 3, though it is not as easy. it goes by a case-by-case basis and i heard the requirement is a1/a2 for sec 2 normal chinese.
                    hope i helped you! πŸ™‚
