Can anyone advise which schools test paper to do for Maths and Science? I want challenging papers from 2018 as my boy will not have time to do every school.

      Thanks in advance.
      can try co-ed GEP schools
Rosyth, Nan hua, Catholic High, Taonan, Henry park, Nanyang

      languages

      for \"Standard\" Chinese / \"Higher\" Chinese -
try the SAP schools' papers, will do
      they are challenging enough

      for English -
not much obvious difference detected, amongst Top schools' test paper(s)
      eg
not much obvious difference, between \"Rgps\" vs \"Mgs\" standard
if u have the time, can attempt both schools

for English past year papers, there isn't any primary school standard, that stands out from the rest, very obvious. All like \"sama sama\", similar kind standard

        Good morning,

Will practising doing the past PSLE papers be sufficient to prepare for PSLE?

        Thank you.

          of course not

should practise your PSLE papers first, because this is the core (main) pillar.
After that, use whichever schools' past year papers, or use whichever Assessment book(s) u deem fit, to supplement (support) that area of weakness spotted (identified / surfaced), in your PSLE paper practice

Thank you for the valuable advice. I was thinking PSLE papers should be the last to do, just before Prelim. You are right that the kids should do PSLE papers first, identify and target the area that needs improvement. We were using top school papers to identify the gap and realise some schools really set much more challenging questions than the others. The standard across even these so-called top schools is quite different especially for Math and Science. EL is about the same. As for CL, the difficulty level is higher for SAP school papers.

May I ask if your child takes HCL, do you buy normal CL assessment book for them to practice, or HCL assessment book. Say for 画龙点睛 - 语文应用 book? Will all the words in normal CL textbook also appear in HCL textbook?
To prepare for HCL, it's advisable to get HCL assessment instead of relying on CL.
                  - HCL's list of 识读、识写字 is not simply CL's list of 识读、识写字 + more
(e.g. Pri 6A CL vs. HCL)
                  https://i.imgur.com/Lz3JbGB.jpg\">

                  - Components tested are different, esp. for HCL's editing section which involves writing

So basically, it's CL assessment book to prepare for CL and HCL assessment book to prepare for HCL.

As I was scrolling through the forum, I noticed a trend in the type of questions popping up: How can my child increase his/ her chances of receiving confirmed offers during the DSA process? Are there any tips or tricks when dealing with DSA interviews? With only a few months left, is there anything else my child can work on to help him ace his/ her PSLE? Should my child choose the International Baccalaureate or Integrated Programme? Just 2 years ago, I too was unsure on how to secure spots in my dream schools through the DSA, how to make use of the last few months leading up to the PSLE to ensure best results, as well as which programme/ school would best suit me. I believe that had I been given the chance to speak to someone who was familiar with and recently experienced such dilemma, the DSA, PSLE and school selection process would have been significantly easier for me. As such, I’m open to having one to one sessions (via online platforms given the current situation) with parents and their kids who are interested to find out firsthand from someone who has gone through the DSA process, stressed over PSLE preparation and picking the right secondary school. These is my "portfolio" as well as areas I can offer advice in or share about:

                    1. Top PSLE scorer in one of Singapore’s top primary schools- scored above 275, A* in all 4 subjects, obtained distinction for HCL [useful tips for last minute PSLE preparation specific to each subject, useful guidebooks]
                    2. Applied to 3 schools via DSA and received confirmed offers from all schools- 2 IP schools & 1 IB school [tips and tricks for DSA interviews in order to stand out from other candidates]
                    3. Currently enrolled in a school offering IP and have many close friends currently in schools offering IB- ACSI, MGS, etc as well as other IP schools- RGS, SCGS, etc. [ IB vs. IP, life of an IP student, which school best suits your child based on his/ her strengths]
