      Hello everyone,
May I know other than top school papers, what other books are recommended for English practice at home.

      Thanks
      Best wishes for 2021...

School resources are usually sufficient for Oral and most Paper 2 components.

Get additional resources if your child is weak in certain areas.

Eg., if weak in Vocabulary, get Vocab assessment book (general and thematic)

For compos, you can ask your child to read one or two compositions from Creative Writing books by The Alternative Story. If your child likes it, buy one of the books.

      All the best.

Thank you for your prompt response and recommendations.

Thank you...yes she does read a lot.. so much that sometimes I have to tell her to focus on the school tasks.
I noticed she could use help with OE comprehensions.. any recommendations to help with that..

Oh.. for OE comprehension, need to do a ton of annotations and answering technique needs to be refined.. must follow answering structures.. ! The more “annotation” the better scores. I’m not sure how to annotate tho, but the kids were taught how to do it in school.

Your child sounds like a kid whose command of English is good! Let her read.. and get her pay attention during English class 😛

Based on this yr psle, my advice is to focus on Chinese during school holiday. Chinese oral is abt 50 marks or 25%. Low hanging fruits. Start practicing oral in Dec, every week focus on 1 theme. If you talk reasonable well, the teachers will give a good mark. Learn all the 词语 from P4 onwards especially P5, keep practicing mcq in assessment bk and past year paper. One of my frend’s son do this diligently for 1 year scored A to A star. His t score jump from 252 in P5 to 262. ( actual psle) and can go to his dream school. Worth the effort

For parents who are planning for your child's preparation schedule -->

The norm for PSLE Exam dates are:
Oral: Thur, Fri after National Day or Term 3 Wk 8
LC: Fri of Term 4 Wk 1
Written Examination: Begins on Thur of Term 4 Wk 3
PSLE Marking: Mon to Thur of Term 4 Wk 6

                    https://i.imgur.com/KKYPhMM.jpg\">

Safe to say the dates on the tentative calendar should be the finalized dates. 218 days to PSLE Oral examination 😉

my boy didn’t take P4 and P5 in Singapore, next week will be joining back to P6 because he was born in 2009. missing two years study and now need to deal with PSLE~~~~~~~~ stress…

For science, to pick up what we missed in P4/P5, is it good enough to utilize the P5 SA2 test papers? anyone know the weight for P4/P5/P6 in PSLE for science exam?

For English and Chinese composition, do we follow certain formats with some requirements on number of words to use, or it’s more like free style to write?

                        thank you so much.
