How is HCI allocate student into different consortium?

Students are allocated randomly into the different consortia, with the exception of GE kids and some mainstream students (I think it’s those who scored relatively higher, but can’t be 100% sure)—they’ll be put into the iSpark consortium—but the syllabus and textbooks/notes used are largely the same.

In Sec 3, students’ classes and consortia are reshuffled based on their subject combinations and/or special programmes taken up

Hi there!

I think you can check on HCI website, there should be an online welcome package which has all the details you need. First two days of school (4&5 Jan) will be the Secondary One Orientation (SOO) and the attire, reporting venue and things to bring can all be found within the online package.

Thereafter, should follow what the school informs, but iirc first day of actual lessons still don’t need to bring too many textbooks, because there was another day of ice-breaking and goal-setting

some publisher will have some, if not many variety of words used within the editions. (in this case; penguin classic vs wordsworth — i have both)

I am trying to find out what ‘language culture’ the school has.

(a) One of the consortiums seems to be dedicated to either those on chinese lit or bilingual program. For the rest of the students in other consortium, is the default language for communications on english, and chinese is not frequently used even if it is a SAP school.
(b) Do students who take foreign languages come together in the school, even after curriculum times, or does the engagement depend on which language the student takes ?
