Govt said to treat covid as endemic. We don't close shop when there is an outbreak of flu or hand foot mouth
Covid is not flu. Maybe Singapore shouldn't treat covid as endemic because flu or HFMD don't cause long term health effects but covid does.

USA plans to announce 'long Covid’ qualifies for federal disability resources

1 in 10 recovered Covid-19 patients in S'pore suffers persistent symptoms six months after infection

In Israel, 20% of vaccinated health workers who test positive suffer from long COVID
      https://www.timesofisrael.com/vaccine-downgrades-disease-but-many-still-suffer-long-covid-israeli-study/

If \"long covid\" is real, do you think Singapore needs to adjust its immigration policies from overloading our healthcare system for the long term.

I kinda find we taking too lightly or is it just that i m too kiasi. Just not taking into account of the mutations…many of us taking similar vaccines and battling with similar range of variants, some can explode till out of control. Some countries taking it seriously…what difference we have?

I m not against opening up coz if not many of us will suffer in a way or another in the longer term. Just hope that the approach will be fairer/more logical to some of us/not too overly aggressive as in please help to look after those vulnerable ones.

It is never easy to adapt a different mindset to focus on number of severely ill or in ICU instead of the 100+ new cases daily.

I think the approach needs to be changed as compared with last year since more ate fully vaccinated

The thing is why adults who are mostly vaccinated wfh but our children below 12yo not vaccinated sent out to school? What basis leh? Economy wise more damage right coz the food ctrs at cbd suffer and likely office occupancy rate will suffer too or some offices just downgrade.

I vaguely remember that those fully vaccinated, if infected, would show little or no symptoms, hence not that likely to need hospital care as care from community care facilities shld be enough...
