My ds is already in the JC section so his info may not be the latest. He said thereβs staggered recess time for different levels.
:thankyou:
I hope the portions of the food is adult size π
Heard the chicken rice is yummy π
Any idea if they have staggered recess time like primary school? π
Hopefully there is 3D2N camp for upcoming batchπ€π»π€π»
Thanks again ππ -

DS said thereβre cashless payments available.
Do the canteen operators/convenience stores/popular accept cashless payments like Google Pay etc? -
Hi, can some kind souls help to share ur thoughts? DS got AL5 in PSLE and he really wants to join RI as some of his classmates do after RI open house tour.
He does not belong to those smartest nor most motivated/hardworking students. His math and Chinese are ok and generally score 90 above, while science is generally around AL2 and English hovered around AL2-3. He briefly joined math Olympiad on P4 and got bronze medal in a P5 MO competition, but stopped in P6 to focus on PSLE preparation. For P6 SA1 and prelim test his results were AL7 and 8 respectively. So in terms of academic, he is not bad but definitely not the most outstanding ones.
Now in a RI environment, how an average student like DS can excel in academic? In primary school days, he did assessment books, past year papers, and attended tuitions. In RI will it be completely different approach? How did ur sons excel in their study and achieved high GPAs? What are the risk or chance that DS cannot cope with the study and left behind his peers? As parents how can we support them? Really appreciate experienced parents to share. Thanks! -

This reply may be a little late. First of all, in my opinion, AL5 is not average, its pretty excellent score. Great job!
Overall, there's all kinds of students in RI. Those who makes it look effortless, while others need to grind it out. We have the quiet ones and those who are full of personalities and/or leadership. Some seem unmotivated but bright, while others are motivated but need to put in hard work everyday. Tuition or not depend on how well you think your child can cope and as well whats your/boy's plans. With so many subjects, they cant be good at everything. Even so, is it necessary to be good at everything? I think the general vibe, it is pretty relax. Yes, they have lots of work and projects to complete, cca and events... but the boys always seem to find time to play and kid around with friends.
For my boy, it is not like \"PSLE\" prep kind of work. He did his regular homework and completed (or try to complete) the revision sets given by his teachers. He managed to get into his Yr 3 dream course as well improvement in his GPA, while managing his ccas and social life.
I think your boy will do just fine in RI. PSLE score is not a determiner; My boy's friend entered RI way below cutoff points, did super well academically, in a sports cca and is a prefect. Fine young man! All the best for your son. I'm sure he'll enjoy RI (or his choice school) and all his new friends. -
Hi Sweetbaby really appreciate ur sharing! Knowing there are kids with different academic background doing well in RI truly helps. Wah, u were still awoke at almost 2am! :thankyou:
