Could it be he applied for DSA but not successful? The school then has his records. They didn’t say its DSA CO kids only but based on DSA records. So if he applied to HCI, they would have his school records and achievements. Maybe?

You could be right. Those with 4 and 5 would qualify for the consortium and I think the school also wants to give an opportunity to more students outside the bracket. The school in the past only has 3 classes for each consortium and in recent years, has 4 for this consortium. For those didn't get selected this year can try again in Year 3. PSG is also very strong in this consortium from my own observation!

Can I check, since CCA is 2-3x a week, if it clashes with any programmes like MSP or other school related programmes, which one takes precedence? Are they allowed to skip 1 out of 3 CCA days?

I think it may depend on the CCA. To be gone a day will be more disruptive to others in some CCAs.

If not tied to a certain CCA (DSA, etc), I believe the other school related programmes and MSP will come first. There have been some other classes where the kids attend that first and then go to CCA (missing half of it for the day).

Also, does MSP have two S1 class days (in the past this was the case)? I.e. depending on when CCA is scheduled, one may be able to swap the MSP day. Do note, this may only be a one year fix, as most likely there will only be one MSP class in subsequent years.

Anyways, best to have the child clarify with the intended CCA(s) / class teachers.
