Hi angiwong,
You an find the infor here :
http://www.singstat.gov.sg/pubn/reference/yos/statsT-demography.pdf
Life births in
2003 : 37,485
2004 : 37,174
2005 : 37,492
hmmm ...just wondering...how will that affect balloting? -
Thank you mincy! now than know it have a statistic website, so helpful.
Million thanks to you…
Oh well, juz a tot that if with the low birth rate for that particular year born, kid get into Primary school maybe have higher chances. Cos maybe the number of applications to a school is enough to allocate the number of vacancies available for each school. If with higher birthrate, parent may face on balloting exercise. Your first choice of school for your kid may be gone.
Which year your kid born? -
oh, you are most welcome.
like that ah ? Looks like this few year all quite low lor. My kid is born in 2005 so not worring about yet ...but hmmm you really plan early lor. -

all daddies and mummies out there, My daughter will be going into P1 next year, Now it’s time for registration.
I really want to know whether this year’s primary registration competition is vehemence than last year or not? I think the birth population of these years (2000, 2001, 2002) is a good indication.
Thanks a lot. -

some schools adjusted the intake to take into account the reduction in birthrates. some, not all. while the statistics for yr 2000 may be a bit skewed as it is a dragon year, i guess the 2001 statistics is a pretty close guide...as far as the schools that i am looking at, those that needed balloting for 2000 yr intake, needed balloting too for the 2001 intake (and the same distance too). In anycase, stats aside, it ultimately boils down to luck.all daddies and mummies out there, My daughter will be going into P1 next year, Now it's time for registration.

I came across the Chinese papers last week that which carries a feature on P1 registration for this year and it mentioned than there will be more kids registering for P1 this year. I remember that the birth rate for 2002 is lower than 2001. The birth rate for 2002 is 40,800 and 41,400 in 2001; but the MOE is expecting about 43,200 kids to be registering for P1 this year compared to 42,100 last year.
