        Welcome jdgm7! πŸ™‚

How was the chance at the phase 2c balloting this year? Were u there to witness the balloting? Understand that those outside 2km had to ballot.

My DS is in P1 this year and last year this period, I was damn nervous too cos I could only register him under Phase 2C and I stay outside 2km. Anyway, congrats to u and ur girl. πŸ™‚

          Hi 3bagsfull

Long time no \"see\". Hope everything has been alright so far 

Time flies. It's already August and with another blink of the eyes, the exams would be here!

Hi KingRascal, thanks for the warmth welcome 😎

3bagsfull, you bet today was really memorable & emotional for me. Actually, I was not able to witness the balloting because of an earlier medical appointment. But I still went to the school after my checkup, hoping I could witness it (praying for my little girl's chance). It was past 10 when I reach the school. When I open the door of the auditorium, only few people were inside. So I thought I was in the wrong room so I double check the room's name. Found out it was the correct room so I open the door again. Teachers asked me what do I want and I told them, I came for the balloting. But they said it was already finished. So I asked if I could see the results. When I saw my child's name, I begun to jump & clap my hands....First thing that comes into my mind, finally my little girl's future is starting to mold.

I just want to share the experience  Cheers everyone!

              Hi KR

Yeah long time no see πŸ™‚

can't believe that it's already mid-august and there's only about 3 mths left before the sch year ends!! I still vividly remember last year this time, I was praying hard for getting my DS into NAPS without balloting.

My son has settled in very well, though occassionally there were those usual mishaps like being pushed and fell down, lost of (numerous) belongings etc. All in all, I am happy with him and the sch. The teachers I met are all very responsible and they take teaching seriously. πŸ™‚

How's your son? Is homework getting busier now that he's near end of P2?

Homework this year is definitely heavier than before. Moreover, this being a streaming year, there is pressure of hoping that the child does well...

Guess this is how the education system is like and we just have to do what we can.

Really glad to know that your child is settling down well in school. Ya, we cannot run away from the typical rough play among them. We just have to ensure we educate our children accordingly and to coach them some of the survival skills. And yes, my child lost several bottles in one year too. Wallet too... even his math textbook as his math teacher hardly used it last year and thus he did not even know when it went missing!!

Just to share that NAPS is in the Phase 2 of the Programme for Active Learning (PAL). See the MOE press release for more info:

                    http://www.moe.gov.sg/media/press/2010/09/developing-skills-and-values.php

This shall involve our kids if they are in P1 or P2 next year. πŸ™‚ Just wondering if it might mean another long day or any duplication with the NAME programme.

Wow you are quick to pick this up! It certainly makes sense to merge them as both definitely point in the same direction.

My Name has been a good initiative and it is commendable that Ngee Ann introduced it earlier.

                        Dear All. πŸ˜„

Hi. I'm a newbie with a boy going to Ngee Ann P1 next year.
I worry most about Bully issues as it seems to happen to my boy even in K2. 😞
As i have noticed ALOT of NA kids esp after school hours behaving rather badly ard the area. I was hoping my kid wld get really lucky & have really nice frens in his class. 😐
