Hello, I am another newbie here. I would like to know how's the feedback of those who sent their children to Zhangde PR school? Is it a new school? I haven't have much information on this school while others recommending Radin Mas alot and if can't get in, CHIJ Kellock will be the second choice. Radin Mas and CHIJ Kellock are within 2 km of my residence but not within walking distance. Zhangde is just across the road.


How do I find out the balloting result of 2007 registration of these school? My gal is falling in 2C phase registration for next year 2009. Am I late to opt for PV if I want to get in these school? :roll:

I am not a local and just relocated from overseas last Sept. My local friends said I am a blur blur mother since I haven't taken any action :oops:

Its not really a new school but they just move to the new permise about 2-3 years ago. Not so sure about their PSLE results. But they were quite consistent in achieving character development awards.

The rule of thumb is to go for the school that you have the highest chance of getting into, and that means:

1. You or your spouse’s ex-school
2. The school that is nearest to you

All primary schools offer the same level of education. Every child take the same PSLE. If you are a bit more particular about the quality of the school and its teachers, and are prepared to spend a bit of time doing PV, then you might want to select the nearest school with better track record. Such schools, however, are likely to be more stressful on both your child and yourselves as parents.

There is nothing wrong with Gan Eng Seng and Zhangde. Both are decent neighbourhood schools. And you don’t need to do PV to get into these schools.

My daughter will attend primary 1 next year, I lived in Telok Blangah, the nearby primary school is CHIJ (Kellock),

Radin Mas Primary School, Zhangde Primary School .

I go to these school’s website to find more information, can not get the detail PSLE result of these school.

It’s hard to make judgement.

Radin Mas has had a stellar year in PSLE last year with over 99% overall passes. Zhangde is newer and has been steadily improving in its PSLE results every year.

Who knows how the school performance of each subject is? I really want to know, so can make a better choice for my daughter.

Based on my analysis, getting into ZhangDe in Phase 2C should not be any balloting for your case.


If you are targeting CHIJ (Kellock) or Radin Mas in phase 2C, very likely you would end up in balloting scenario. CHIJ only have 200 places where Radin Mas have 270.

That is just my observation, hope you are not being offended.

Anyway I'm also preparing for 2010 intake. Radin Mas & Zhang De also in my consideration list.

I'm living within 1 km from both Radin Mas and CHIJ (Kellock). Base on last 2 years balloting result, there will be no balloting for <1 km distance.

The main issue for me is which school is much suitable for my daughter. I know CHIJ (kellock) is strong in English, maths, and science, whereas I don't know how Ras Mas work in their subject, what is Radin Mas' strong item. Pls give me some points.

Radin Mas also very strong & I know thier PSLE KPI is very good. But based on the number for places, Radin Mas have more.


I maybe targetting Radin Mas for my 2nd children but thinking of gointo into Phase 2C would be like Mission Possible.
