Meaning will they query why we use 2 different address to register?

      Just to play safe first.

there should be no record for the unsuccessful registration

and if your conscience is telling you otherwise, follow your conscience

perhaps many people have lost that ......

Ok, my kid is staying with my mum during time and we are only bringing him back on weekend.

So if unsuccessful under Phase 2B for Nan Chiau (which i suppose is the best school in Seng Kang), I will rather not take the risk under Phase 2C.

Will rather register him near my own house at Serangoon, maybe under Maris Stella which I guess is much more safer.

Not sure which part of Serangoon you stay at - but you might want to note that MS has balloting for the 1 to 2km distance range for 2C (at least the trend has started recently - so i am expecting this trend to stay!)

Yes, I noticed that Maris Stella need balloting this year for those within 1-2km. I am staying within 1-2km to it too.

Just weighing the odds…1-2km to Nan Chiau will not even give me any chance to join in the balloting right.

Guess will need to have a back up school too in case MS also fail in balloting.

                Dear Chief Kiasu,

I am thinking of getting a place within 1 km from either Tao Nan or Kong Hwa?? I have been a SHHK member for 1 year, which one stands a higher chance?? Pls advise

If u registering in NanChiau under 2B and ur mum stays 1-2 km from the school, u can make a statuotory declaration that your kid is taken care of by ur mum, and u can use her address safely and openly. U will qualify for 1-2 km category. Not to worry if u use another address for 2C (your own address) since it was made known the one u used in 2B was ur mum's.

Hi I am not Chief and here is my 2 cents worth of thoughts:

For Tao Nan, balloting was conducted this year under 2B for those staying within 1km, so if it happens on the year u register, the chance to get in is not 100% guaranteed, even if u stay within 1km.

For Kong Hwa, balloting was conducted this year under 2B for those staying 1-2 km, so if the same thing happens on the year u register and u stay within 1km, u would get a place definitely.

And from past years phase 2B trends for the last 3 years, Kong Hwa seems to have a higher chance to get in compared to Tao Nan.

2008 : Kong Hwa no balloting, Tao Nan ballot 1-2 km
2009 : Kong Hwa ballot out of 2km, Tao Nan ballot 1-2 km
2010 : Kong Hwa ballot 1-2 km, Tao Nan ballot within 1km

Note the trend can differ each year, and the above is just for reference.

i am thinking of making a SD for my ds for 2011 P1 registration. I have read thru this thread, but still have a couple of questions.

Q1. How to we define working full time? must be > then certain number of hours a day? Is working everyday from 9am to 2pm full time?

Q2. MOE website states that "Both parents are working full-time at the time the statutory declaration was made;", means we only need to ensure that both parents r working during that time? After that, does not matter anymore?
