      WeiHan:
The RV 2010 Open House is on 27 November. 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Why is the open house this year shifted to November instead of in May? Is it because of AYLC?
I think yes because dd told me, the school was super busy with the AYLC.

who did you hear it from? personally i think he is a good principal.

so far my child has been very happy with him. in fact he is quite caring. often chat with students before flag raising.

It's regarding the new P ... Heard that teachers are leaving as they disagree with him. Did you hear anything from your kids? Is he very different from the previous P? Also heard that he's not the kind and caring type ...

my child only told me the english HOD left recently to USA to study masters. so not sure where your friends have the info that many teachers left. could they be relief teachers or trainees from NIE?

dont think the school neglect morality. my child said the P has been emphasising 4 values regularly during morning assembly. i heard so much till i also know the 4 values..haha
            1. self-discipline
            2. sense of responsibilty
            3. self-motivation
            4. sense of appreciation

            snowsam:
They have friend's kids in the school, mentioning that the new P's management style has caused teachers to leave. The teachers are not as passionate as before, the school only focus on academic result and neglect the morality.

Glad to hear that. I also hope that the rumours are untrue as my daughter is very keen on joining the school next year. It's her 1st choice if she does well enough for her PSLE.

daisyt, your DD got full exemption for all subjects for this EOY exam? she must be really outstanding.

I heard the MOE biculture scholarship application is opening, is your DD going to apply?

No lah, she is not that type, good in everything. To get full exemption, must be good in ALL subjects leh.

Biculture scholarship application needs recommendation letter from teachers and must be interviewed and tested by MOE officers. And I think maybe must wait till end of the EOY exams first. :?

She is happy to go Bicult class but scholarship hor, she is thinking very hard because for scholarship, need to take A lvl HCL lor. 😐

                      Daisyt,

I heard a lot of yr 2 get either full, if not partial exemption. Only a handful in each class not exempted, is that true ?

There's a girl in year 1 who got A2 for all subjects, GPA 3.5 but none of the subject exempted bcos none of her subject get A1. :stupid:

Justsay, yes quite true, many have partial exemption and certain papers only 10+ taking the eoy in a class. But it seems that LA & HCL not easy to get exemptions.

Exactly! Many just miss by decimal point to qualify for partial & end up have to take ALL subjects. Dd was quite frustrated too & to make them feel more demoralise, many of them feel yesterday Maths paper 1 was very difficult. Hopefully paper 2 can be a reasonable one. šŸ™

I just have to tell dd, nvm lah, the more u study, the more u know lor. And hor, there are students got full exemption still chooae to take eoy exams. Many reasons and one i heard of, feel not fair to the classmates if not taking, want to tong gan gong ku with them. Also heard of worry keep on exempted, might not not able to handle exam stress during the major A lvl.
