Hi Chadax,chadax:
Uni and shoes can buy already? can go in to the school & buy first? No restriction? :? I still keep thinking must wait till orientation.
School admin staff said letters posted out and we can expect to receive this week or early next week.. not friendly tone (as usual)....
keep thinking whether have sent my son to the wrong school... hmmm..quite disappointing
Yes, you can. I brought DS to the sch to buy the uniform & shoes already. DS is very big sized for his age so I hv to get it early and send the uniform for alteration.
Thanks Suaku_mum! Also received the letter today. Any idea what time does the shop open for the uniform and shoes?
Anyone attending the phonics/hanyu pinyin course? Still considering...
:scratchhead: -
Just received the letter yesterday. Will be sending my gal to the enrichment class , so any parent sending too?
Also, cos of the huge crowd i can anticipate on 22 Nov, likely to go down to the school to buy uniforms earlier (next week). Can any parent advise what time the shop open? -
Hi chadax & audmom,
I think the opening hours to buy the uni/shoes is 9am-4pm. To be on safe side, better call the vendor to confirm again (Mdm Yeo 6764 3102).
I am also considering if I should send DS up for the 2 courses. Any parents out there can share their feedback if the course is beneficial? -

DS' English is ok but had not been exposed to HYPY then. However, we didn't let him attend any of these bcos we prefer him to pay attention during sch so that less chances of him cultivating the fatal \"i know it all\" attitude from Day1. He has no problem w HYPY when taught during Chinese lessons.Hi chadax & audmom,

On the other hand, some of my friends' kids enjoyed the courses but (according to them) didn't retain much. 1 of them even has to attend remedial English class during Term 1. -

I am thinking of sending my son the courses. I called up Miss Yap for the english course and was told children need to sit for a 45 min test on orientation day to ascertain their \"standard\" which will determine where they place the children during the 10-day course. Max size of class is about 20. Those really weak ones may be 1-1 for a while but same fee. Can anyone confirm if there's really a test?Just received the letter yesterday. The letter didn't mention about attire for orientation, so can wear anything?
Must we buy books on that? Will it run out if I buy another day? Disappointed that letter never mention how much is each (e.g. books) so that we know how much to bring.... -

I bought few weeks back when I heard it opens almost daily and can buy anytime, do need to wait till orientation. It's so easy, the lady serves only me with all the time I have for my son to try diff sizes. I can imagine the scene on orientation day.Uni and shoes can buy already? can go in to the school & buy first? No restriction? :? I still keep thinking must wait till orientation.

I agree with you. They sound terrible and bad attitude everytime I called them, sounds like impatient and wanted to end the call asap. It makes me wonder too if I have make a wrong choice....

There was some fun \"assessments\" last yr (& past few yrs too) for all the kids but we were not told of its purpose. So there were some speculation that it was to re-assign classes for the kids (actual class is different from the temp orientation class).I am thinking of sending my son the courses. Just wear home clothes will do if no uniform is required.
$300 shld b more than sufficient for bks, uniforms & shoes.
U might 1 2 skip buying on 16 Nov, as it's meet the parents in the a.m. & concert in pm so sch will be crowded. -

TQ! Anyway, can advice when will we get the timetable for P1 next year? I intent to let my son going for swimming on Sat morning but without the timetable, I dun dare to commit in case NCPS requires the student to go back on Sat morning.... Tks!

Sat mornings are for optional enrichments. If you have no intention of signing up then there's no activities on Sat.

I’ve just checked w bookshop this a.m. Booklist is avail from this Thurs but books only avail during the sch hols & the store opening dates will b on the list.
Time-table will b avail only on 1st few days of sch but try not to pack too many activities on weekends until u hv a feel of the homework load during weekends. Some classes seem to hv more than others.
