I am not very familiar with the West, but I would say your choices are rather good and your chances of getting into NH or BPGH are quite high even if you cannot get into RV but that said, I would not waste my 6 choices by making a wrong choice too.Hi Anybody can help
I am staying in the west, my son score 247 plus 1 point Hmt 248
1st choice: RVH
2nd Choice: Nan hua
3rd Choice: SJI
4th Choice: Bukit Panjang Govt High
I have no idea for 5 or 6 th choice, any opinion on my above selection.
Any suggestion?
Thank You
Since you don't mind travelling to SJI, I have two other schools to propose to you, but they are a bit far for you. Your chances of gettting into Catholic High and Victoria are quite high, but these two schools are a bit far for you. -
Hi, has anyone has experience of applying schools when results is less than cop? If you have, what is the chances of getting in?

Two points off is worth a try but quite risky considering that Crescent Girls is quite a popular school, so my advice is to go for Crescrent Girls as first choice, but make sure your second choice is a school that is within your means.Dd got 238. I live in toa payoh. Which would be the 6 choices? Totally confused. Should i risk putting crescent as first choice or will it be wasted? Will COPs drop this time? If i want dd to get into CHIJ TOa Payoh should that be my first choice?(she is not from IJ primary) If 2 people with same score apply to IJ will the person who put CHIJ as first choice get preference over the other person who put it as second choice?
Pls pls help... Thank you all soooo much.
There is no guarantee whether a school's COP will go up or down, it depends on the cohort applying every year. Take CHIJ Toa Payoh for eg. It went down from 246 to 238 from 2009 to 2010.
Yes, assuming two persons with the same score trying for the same school and only one vacancy is left, the one who put it as first choice gets in. -

Hi
My son score 235 and my wife is very disappointed with his results (at a pt she would not want to know what Sec sch he is going to choose now … sigh)
Anyway, I would appreciate if anyone could help me to see if the following choices are OK:
1st: Chung Cheng (Main)
2nd: St. Andrew
3rd Tanjong Katong Secondary
Is it OK to try for SJI?
Thanks
Rgds

Seriously I won't take the risk to try for a school with 225 as COP if my T-score is 218. A bit risky in my opinion. 1 to 2 points is okay, but 7 points is a bit risky.Hi,
What are the recommended secondary school choices for T-score of 218? I'm staying in Bukit Panjang area. Is it worthwhile to try a school with a COP of around 225? Does it help if the pupil has participated in many ECAs when it comes to appeal to entry?
Many thanks
Yes, CCA plays a part when it comes to appeal cases, but then again, it also depends of what CCA and if that CCA is what the choice school is looking for. You have to go and do some homework in that aspect. Check out what sort of CCAs are strong in that particular school first before you consider appealing but a word of caution, the appeal process is very stressful both for the parent and the child. -

Good results only mean one gets an easy way into civil service, doesn't mean much once that person is out in the working world. I know of pp who didn't get high grades, but are now making bundles of money.
how to? even 10 A1 from a non-IP school can't get into top JC. when is a good opportunity to 报仇? :?sinoboy:

Tell him that this is not the end of the race... that he has a few more opportunities to 报仇雪恨.
So Jieting, tell your son to brace up. PSLE is only 1 small hurdle - road is still long.[/quote]I second that because outside world do not look at you PSLE results but it is whether you can work. -

True, true...some encouraging true cases.
PSLE score -(1) 228 Riverside sec , Anderson JC, NUS
(2) Choa chu Kang Sec, Pioneer JC, SMU
(3) Christchurch sec, Anderson JC, NUS
The future is still as bright....don't let the PSLE score be a stumbling block.
The best is yet to be .
All the best. :celebrate:
