Probably she was one of the lucky one then.[/quote]It depends on how well / bad the child is in her primary school which made RV accept / deject the child.
I am shocked to hear that. Oh well, that's too bad. I have another friend of mine who's daughter score 248 + 2 and tried appealing into RV, but got rejected too. I wonder why ?loler12:

I live @ Woodlands. I went to see the O' levels result and thought that Xinmin is quite okay but I'm also considering about the distance too.
Woodlands? You know something? Ironically, there is a bus from Woodlands to Hougang, SBS 161, and it passes somewhere near Xinmin, but still, I would say Woodlands to Hougang is a bit far, considering at least 5 times a week (assuming no CCAs on Saturday, which is rather rare for Secondary School) for 4 years .... it is indeed far.

True. I agreed with you. My niece went to Ngee Ann with an aggregate of 250 last yr. She top in the Sec 1 cohort and she is very happy there. She have told me that if she has gone to any of the top school, she would not shine there.

Is 261+3 a good score?

Alamak!  You make me sound like an expert in this area! Please don't for I am not! Merely helping out since I have gone through this twice and am done with it.Is depends on you and your DS. My son score is 235 (1A* and 3A) as well but I would still want him to go to (tentatively):
1st Choice: Maris Stella
2nd Choice: Chung Cheng High (Main)
3rd Choice: Tanjong Katong Sec Sch
4th Choice: St. Andrew
5th & 6th: Not decided
25hourMaid - Is my choice OK?
Okay, back to serious business. Thought you have not decided on the choices yet? Thought you wanted to go and look-see over the weekend?
But looking at it, I would say your choices are good and chances of getting into either Maris Stella or CCHM is quite high. Have you considered Dunman Sec too (COP 231) and I heard that it is also not bad. -

Personally my PSLE score was near the COP of my school and I got in through DSA. It sort of \"reset\" for me, I'm scoring better than some of my peers who score higher than me for PSLE. (Around the top 20% in the cohort) But there are students who didn't score very well for PSLE and don't work hard at all after going to sec 1 and results didn't turn out very well in the end. With 255+2, I am seriously not sure if my son will \"shine\" in hci if he manages to get in since he will be the bottom of the cohort but if I don't seize this chance of letting him try out in an ip school, will we regret it in future?
In hci, is the allocation of classes bases on t score so all those who juz made it will go to the bottom classes or each class has a mix of students?
