Hi 25hourmaid, Innovate, noob,
Thank you for all the advises

I fully understand yr predicament and yr son’s desire to enter RI.
COP is forecasted to drop is an intelligent guess. The other unknown factor is the cop of HCI. So if yr son is so determined to head to RI that’s make yr 3rd choice very critical.
All being said, there’s no difference academically btw RI and HCI our top academic instituitions. -

unless my niece doesn't mind studying for 5 yrs right  ....emmm shall let them decide. Thanks vynxvlim:
my niece has T-score of 191, but my brother considering to put her to normal in better school rather then express in so so school....is it wise to do that :?
is always better to try out Express stream 1st. if your niece can't cope, then switch to Normal. otherwise, you have to be the top 5 in the Normal stream cohort to be able to switch to Express (once a yr based on your yr-end results) -

Dear All, kindly ask for your advise please for my dd who scored 223. We live in Mount Faber she is from River Valley PS. Our choices so far is:
1. Chu Cheng Main (cop 208-231)
2. Gan Eng Seng (222-239)
3. Peirce (208-231)
Hoping to get Gan Eng Seng but try to strecth it to get Chu Cheng due to dd would like to go to JC. Is it wise?
Do you mean Chung Cheng (Main)? If so, the COP is 236 (236-263).
Should we just drop it since it is too high? -

Hope that those who are not well-informed please do not give unsolicited advice which maybe detrimental to parents. Its the future of our next generation we are dealing. Every child is so precious that each must be given ample opportunities notwithstanding their PSLE performances.
and if you do provide advice, please substantiate it with your reasoning so that we all can help determine if any or all of it is flawed. the destiny of someone's child may be at stake; please give due consideration to the advice you are providing. -
soka
Please bear in mind is another person’s risk. Chances of her being admitted to Cedar on T-score of 238 is less than 10%. Why made unwise decision. -

I will go ahead with putting RI as the first choice. You have rightly mentioned that there is not much to distinguish between RI and HCI. But since my son is so keen on RI, I feel it is better to go with his preference and put RI as first choice and HCI as second.
What is the 'third choice' that you would suggest? (since you mentioned that - 'makes your third choice very critical')
