      Thanks Daisy,

Ya, it could be a blessing in disguise if she’s not selected. Can try something else and who knows, it could be even more interesting and suitable for her.

          hi carrot,

We can't really prepare them until we get the booklist. Then we can get the books and start preparing them for sec 1. Right now, just get them to read Chinese story books so that they can remember how to write the Chinese characters.
          Hi Sall,

Thanks for replying... we have been borrowing chinese books and returning without much reading. 🙏 shall make time and effort to read those chinese books we have borrowed along with him ...no choice lah he is a english potato :faint: :celebrate: 😉

Hi carrot, good that your child is strong in language. To take 3rd lang, RV students would go ghim moh language centre amd the lesson is 3hrs 15 mins. I think this is one of the killing point, 3hrs straight can be very tiring. And they teach very fast for 3rd lang. I encourage your child to try it out since he has the interest. Hang on as long as he can. My girl dropped off in the mid of year 2. Let your ds enjoys now, once in sec, esp IP, not much leisure time lor.

Hi sall, CCA selection, must be prepared your child won't get into his dream CCA. They select through auditions and tests. Even don't get select in the dream CCA, its still fine lor, learn something new and different, it always a good thing, right?
            Hi Daisy

Thanks! will ask DS to hang on so long he enjoy we will support lor ...taxi home one this long day  :celebrate:

For Y1 registration, is it going to be very chaotic, buying uniform, PE T-shirt,shorts, textbks etc. Will there be some briefing for parents? I feel like going to Tiong Bahru to buy the uniform first, wonder if the price is the same :? I suppose they go to register in their primary sch uniform? :?

Sall, your child DSA in RV? The uniform vendor has another branch near boon lay too. Yes, they wear primary sch uniform on the reporting day. Chiotic? My child’s time was in Malan campus, buying of uniform was in hall and books in canteen. Quite a lot of people. We bought uniform at tiong bahru and books from the school in seperate days. Price the same. During dd time, bo briefing for parents. Parents were invited for briefing on the first week of Jan when the kids camp in sch for their orientation. Then after CA1, Teachers meet Parents session. Justsay can advise her experience, hers was in boon lay campus.

Yes when my dd was Y1 & also 窗边的小豆豆. Year 2 was 水浒传. The schools would get them buy these books so i suggest yoi borrow from the library if you want your child to read now.

窗边的小豆豆 and 水浒传 were tested and graded.

Year 1 must memorise 唐诗, year 2 宋词.
