what about shooting? does anyone know where do the students go for shooting? it is conducted in some outside venue. and is transport provided to bring the kids to the shooting venue and back to school? my son is also interested in shooting…

looks like he will end up with UG which he dislikes…

Sports cca is very difficult to get in. I remember the rv tr asking dd about her pri sch badminton team, whether she is a 1st single player, what they had won over the years. As for shooting, I also have no idea, sounds interesting as it's conducted at outside venue. Maybe should get the students to go around and shoot those irritating crows.. :lol:

Hi octopusmum, dd is in 1E. I'm also very worried dd get thrown into UG. for boys, actually it's gd for them to join UG, get some NS kind of experience. So in future, when he reports for NS, you wouldn't feel so anxious. Have u bought the home econs and tech. apron? Soon your ds gets to do some cooking!

I was in npcc and hated it. I didn’t like to be under the hot sun, u see…

I haven’t bought anything yet. Thinking of getting the uniforms today and books on next Tuesday . Will be bringing Ds to school by public transport.

You mean the person or the company. The person 李宁 was a former gymnast. He founded a company branded Lining. If it is the person, I'll say RV really has strong connection.

Sorry to interupt, is RV strong in Badminton. what is the chances like if my daughter dsa thru cca (Badminton)

When I spoke to the sports trs during open house, it seems like they are going all the way out to improve the standard of badminton. Seems like the P is v keen on badminton, so I was told they are joining force with Lining and doing a lot more for badminton. So I believe they will be looking for the best of the best during dsa trial. If your child is from JSA, then I believe she'll have a better chance. Some students who are under JSA are already accepted into the sch team. They didn't even need to go for the trial.
My dd is going for training, but she still has to go for the trial as she's not from JSA. It seems like badminton is the only sport that conducts such intensive training during this holiday, 4x a wk. But maybe the tournament starts in 3rd wk of Jan, that's why so rigorious training.

wow...how many p6 already accepted into the school team?

think all sports training r rigorous as it is competitive. cross country and softball tough too.

if your dd can run...she can try out for cross country. rv is the national champions for c div and 2nd for b div. the runners were later given a sports excellence scholarship by the school.

Thanks for all the input for dsa in RV. MY son wanted to get into RV, However his cop did not meet RV Cop. so he ended up in Nan Hua. After this experience i think it will be good if i let my daughter try DSA.Seriously i myself also not sure is DSA the best way to let my daughter get into her dream school. Or i should just wait and see her PSLE result and then decide from there. It may be too early to think as she is only Primary 4 next year, but i personlly feel that if i want to let her go thru DSA then i must plan early. Any parents got any Input. I am more than willing to listen to your advise
