But how do you define Chinese? China consists of hundreds of smaller ethnic groups that are not chinese. They speak different dialect and some even have their own languages. I ask this is because it is not a static concept. Better to let the students learn that,as with everything else, it is ever evolving and not a static. How do we grasp this elvoving trend is key to success.
There is no shortcut when come to learn chinese. I fully agree to this method. Initially the kids would complain because its like worse than primary sch time but once they get use and see improvement in their chinese, they would appreciate. I also agree with the P on if the chinese level and result is no better than other non SAP, how can we call ourselves SAP sch students.sall:
Yes ,daisyt, it's a matter of getting used to it.
For Chinese spelling, 1 wrong word = 20 times correction.
If they don't memorize the poem well, copy the whole poem 15 times,
So better study hard.
I am indeed very glad to see improvement in dd's chinese and her interest ever since she steps in RV.
And to me learning chinese is about learning the language, understand the values and morales. Of course this apply to learning other languages but the values and morales of chinese can be very unique to us chinese. -
Y1 can select their CCA online. Deadline is 31/1.

Weihan, i might misunderstand you but I never think that to learn chinese is a trend. I am just that type of \"old fashion\" school of thought

Is there such a thing as a RV jacket or wind-breaker? It’s very cold in the morning, need to wear a jacket.

I saw a senior high student holding a white wind breaker with lining logo, not sure where to get it. -
Anyone know where to get the wind breaker?

I just meant not to learn anything as if they are a dead unchanging thing. I didn't meant learning chinese is a trend. -
Hi, daisyt,
I read the older post and understand that your dd is in infocomm. My dd need to submit CCA selection by today (though dateline is 31/01/2011 which is a school day), can you help to check with your dd :
1) Has all vacancy in Infocomm being filled up already ?
2)If Y1 student who is not shortlisted for the interview, can she still put Infocomm as a choice while applying online?
Sorry to trouble you.
Thank you in advance for your help. -
Hi Ling66

2) chance is slim (purely personal view) -
ds just called to ask if he can join the maths tutoring programme ie goes to a primary school to tutor the students on maths for 14 sessions.
